Been searching but cant find any examples or popular gas door locking options here on TYF.
Anybody out there install a locking gas door?
What are the best options out there for the Tahoe?
Thank you for your time!

Would a locking gas cap work? Those are easy to find and probably a cheaper option

Not looking for a locking gas cap, there so incredibly easy to bypass and anyone who steals gas knows how. Was hoping for a decent locking gas door that isn't paper thin like some I've seen offered for the Jeeps. Thanks for the suggestion though, I appreciate it.

I may go this rout, thank you for the info! I wonder if its a flush fitting install?
I may try just adding a lock to the OEM door. I took a look today and there is a perfect lip for the lock to catch on.
Ill let you guys know and if I decide to drill my OEM gas door. Ill take photos and post my FUBAR:p

This is what I was gonna suggest and the route I'd go. Get a stainless lock since it's in the elements. Paint the hole after you drill it and let it dry completely. I'd also put a thin layer of butyl adhesive around the underside of the lock head and let it dry before installing it so it'd be a non-corrosive gasket.

If the lock body is too long, putting the tab too deep and allowing too much gap in the door, you can either bend the tip of the tab outward or put a bolt and nut through that hole and be able to adjust the slack to your liking.

well first thing is to try and siphon some gas out of the thing, my guess is unless you are parking somewhere extremely sketchy the chances of getting gas siphoned are nill, and if someone REALLY needs gas they will just put a hole in the plastic gas tank.

He's not worried about gas theft. He's got a lineup of pissed-off ex's looking to dump stuff into his tank.
