Do you sell on EBay? That’s where most of my stuff is sold. They take a piece and then PayPal takes a piece but stuff does sell there. I just mark it up a bit when I can.

I sell on the usual--letgo, offerup and cl. It seems like more of a hassle to sell on ebay it seems--to me anyway. I know @Doubeleive sells alot on there. Maybe he could give me some advice. Also--how would shipping work?

FB marketplace is a good place to sell stuff too, can post it there then on various pages in your area that’s where I sell everything for the most part, I post anything I’m trying to sell there CL or OfferUp

anymore I do free shipping on everything simply because everyone else does, I can't charge the same price and shipping and expect to sell anything so I end up doing a lot of research on sold items that are the same or very similar and I just have to calculate that into the whole process of what I pay for it and what I can sell it for. I have been doing this for 20 years so I have a lot of experience, if my cost for something is too much then I just have to pass it up because something else will show up later.
I take advantage of flat rate shipping boxes from the usps, generally if it fits it will ship. I use a lot of padded envelopes because they are lighter than boxes so if it wont break easily or crush easily it goes in a padded envelope.
there is a system like anything under 1lb can go first class, anything over 1lb can go in a padded flat rate envelope, anything over 2lbs can go in a flat rate box.
that all depends on the size of the item. if it is big and over 4lbs then generally I ship fedex ground, again that also depends on how far it is going the usps generally divides the usa into about 4 sections, so if I am shipping a 17lbs box to section 1 near me it is generally still cheaper to send usps. size matters big stuff cost more to ship there really is no way around that if it is over 20" even if it weighs only 5lbs its probably going to cost a lot to ship. for instance shipping a bicycle is a easy $100 usually more like $150 anything big like that just cost's stupid money so unless you are getting a very good price for big stuff forget it, either sell it local or don't even bother trying you'll just loose money.
one other thing, when selling on ebay, keywords can make all the difference in the world, particularly in the title a little effort can pay off, in the appropriate section there is a area for crossover part numbers so if someone is searching for a compatible part your item will show up also rockauto is a very good reference for crossover part numbers.
I follow almost exactly the rules Wes does. And through EBay you get a discount on shipping if you link your usps ups and fedex accounts. Right through eBay you can choose your shipping service, pay and print labels.
