Morning All!

question...I know I have a 3.08 rear end ratio...would like to service it...put new fluid,etc.
Is there anything special about the Yukon hybrid rear ends that I should know about??...
or is it just drain and refill with the proper weighted lubricant??....any information is appreciated.

It might be a 9.5 14-bolt rear, especially if RWD but otherwise, nothing different. RPO AXN.

Morning James...do you know the weight of or gear oil I should use?

The rear axle takes 75W90 synthetic gear oil. 2.15 Quarts if you have the 10-bolt rear axle.

GM part numbers are 89021677 or 10-4016 or 88900401

Gallon - 88861719 or 10-4099 (pretty sure)

Lucas 10047 should work fine too.

thanks James...however with a heavy heart I post today...went for my usual four hour ride this weekend....first two hours everything seemed fine...after a bite to eat went out to continue on my way and noticed at a real low speed a clacking sound...thought I broke a tie rod or ball joint...or even cracked a rotor or brake pad...had my son listen on each corner as I coasted....progressively got worse..parked and let sit for 10 minutes....no check engine lights ever...no previous codes stored....started the truck again put in reverse everything fine...went to put into drive and hit the gas...worse violent noise I ever heard from a truck/vehicle in my life...sounded like ALL the splines on the either the rear of the tranny or the front of the tranny broke...really bad sound....need to take to dealership for diagnosis...I know its not going to be good....really bummed out about it....this truck has been really maintained and drove perfect before this!.....any comments or ideas will be appreciated.
