Hi guys, quick question.

Tonight I installed new rear air springs/shocks and a new compressor anddd.... a new female 8 pin connector/pig tail (original connector was taped up in a baggie and was completely corroded)

When I reconnected the battery the compressor turned on right away and just kept running, the rear end got way too high so I disconnected the battery.

I inspected the rear ride height sensors and one was so badly rusted I just pulled it right off. So technically it is now in the fully extended position I believe. I unbolted the second one so now they are both at max ride height position - but, compressor still runs.

Do you guys think it's a bad ride height sensor? Or possibly I connected new harness incorrectly.

Does anyone have access to a wiring diagram for rear air suspension compressor?

Thx.

It is most likely a bad ride height sensor. Are you getting DIC messages at all? When you start up the car does the compressor just kick on and stay on? In the meantime, you could let some air out of the shocks and disconnect the compressor so it does not burn out. That could be done by removing the fuse.

I would do the following

  • Let air out by removing the air lines
  • put lines back on shocks
  • turn on the truck
  • allow the shocks to fill to level
  • turn off the engine
  • remove the fuse for the compressor.

That should hold you until you can deal with the sensors. You might only need to replace the rods that attach to the sensors.

Hey Costal Cat, thx for reply.

Service suspension is now coming up.
Compress does kick on and stay running. -- not sure which fuse it is so I unplugged 8pin connector at compressor.

I let air out by unplugging air line.

I haven't got a chance to buy new ride heigh sensors yet. I will do that asap. I think that's the problem too. I would have thought there was a high limit built in somewhere in addition to ride height sensors.

Shutting of the truck does not stop the compressor. I initially disconnected the negative cable at battery as I realized compressor was not going to stop and I was approaching a new 7" lift kit. .. :fuckyea:

Sounds like maybe the compressor relay is stuck in the ON position.

I say that because shutting off the truck should have caused it to dump air.
