Right!

Can you imagine the marketing nightmare if it was true that GM, Ford and Ram only designed truck seats to hold 250# when a major part of their demographic are big guys?

Never mind the load they have to handle in an accident like when you get rear ended.
lol, for whatever reason this just made me think of this old suitcase commercial

I chalk mine up to being 16yrs old and a little thing called wear & tear.

are you sure you did not exceed the the 250 pound limit? after 250 pounds you risk slipping the gears or worm or teeth on it (had this happen before from someone that weighted 260)
as soon as they got in the gear teeth slipped and damaged the seat (yeah i was not happy as i just bought it) on my old car

They only have to meet the FEDERAL requirement of a steel folding chair

You must have done something to break it
these seats can hold a 700 pound person

A GMT400 in which case it can HOLD over 700 pounds or 5 people "equivalent" in one seat
(skip to 4:20)

more then likely the spot where it broke rusted out
What the hell is that video? The seat is 14 years old, it will not last forever. Thanks for your useless reply.

Not sure if it is the bottom I need or not. I will let you know once I investigate more.
I would just get a good flashlight and poke around under the seat that's how I found mine having the broken brace on the bottom, I managed to push it back into place for now but I need a new seat bottom for mine and have been looking for one with the same color material, probably going to have to take the whole seat apart to fix it so I haven't been to enthused to do it yet, lol
