Alright, another question about this system, and I promise I'll only ask once, yukonjacks ;)

Do these have an auto-start feature that starts the vehicle when it hits a certain temp? I was under the impression they did (like if it hits 0 degrees, it'll start for 15 minutes or something), but can't find that info anywhere. Might be my mistake. I saw they had an temperature sensor and assumed it did something other then tell the temperature....lol

There may be an add on module, but I personally never heard of any. I know they have alot of add on features like window operation and voice command with sensors where you can actually alert someone if they get to close or poke there head in the vehicle with the window down, they have preprogrammed and self recorded to download, but I never seen anything on programmed start, the new ones that come out this year might, hell they do everything else almost.

well hell, the problem is of course that the trans computer and ECM talk back and forth and the ?PCM/BCM? runs the starter electronically. If any of them are unhappy during the remote start you are going to get some issue.

MIght I GUESS that all the ign AND all the acc are not being powered on? One of them is missing would be my guess, and something is on the missing one that one of the computers is looking for.
Anyway that would be MY guess, being stuck in OD (or 3rd) sounds like a typical limp/fail mode on an E-trans.

IF it starts and runs fine on the key only, then it has to be an alarm issue. IF not it could be a bad connection on something that was tapped into, or a wrong wire tapped into (tailshaft sensor instead of VSS for example)

heres what i know so far. autozone check and it threw 3 codes...all tranny related. i cleared the codes, disconnected the battery, and turned the key to the on position. waited 10 minutes and then started it up with the key only. no check engine light, no tranny issues...it ran fine.

this morning i used the remote start again. check engine light on, starts off in OD and the tranny problems are back. go back to autozone, do the same stuff as last night, and now it runs fine.

its clearly an issue with the way it was wired in. ill be taking it back monday morning and dropping it off. im getting aggravated.

Yeah, not to minimize the annoyance, but that beats needing to replace the tranny. Silver-liners and all that....

Supposedly they lock automatically after 60 seconds.

According to the on-line manual, anyway.

Get mine installed tonight after work. I am going to tell him not to screw my tranny or computers up....

We ran out of time, gonna have to finish tonight. Got the brain wired and antennae put in. Install guy, since he's doing it for me on the side in his free time, wanted to know if he could finish tonight. He's cutting me a deal, so I'm not going to be a douche about how fast it's done....lol.

I told him about your issue and he said it's most likely a very simple fix: Whoever installed yours forgot to wire up Ignition 2.

Found something cool about my remote start I didn't know. I have been real careful to make sure I turned off the wipers so when I started it in the morning I wouldn't wipe out my wipers from ice and frost. Found out this afternoon that when you use the remote start it disables the wipers till you put the key in the ignition and turn it. I thought that was pretty cool

That's actually good to know. It's kind of a pet peeve of mine with my wife. She always leaves wipers on. If there's built up ice or snow on the windshield they still try to go when you start the car. Drives me nuts.

Still waiting for mine to get done. May get it done tonight, may not. My installer is also a car dude, and his motor needs some work. His motor guy is helping him tonight, so if they aren't done, I don't get done....lol.

It's all good, though. Buncho gear heads trying to pool knowledge to help each other save a few bucks. That's what I love about these forums.

my guy fixed it today. check engine light is still on for now. i just need to go to autozone and clear the codes. your guy was close to the problem. he wired ignition 1 and igntion 2 up backwards. took him 10 minutes to fix it.

i followed the instructions online on how to keypad lock the remote but cant get it to work. this remote is finicky!
