Got her polished up and waxed. I’ve purchased almost all the supplies I need to get this done, but just never seem to have the time. So paid a neighborhood guy to do a 3-step exterior treatment. Very happy with the results. She’s showing her age in the little paint chips, but considering a 15 year old GM paint job, I think she looks great! Will be doing the interior detail next..

Lookin' sharp!

Very cool. Sounds like the encoder motor is a fairly common failure in these t-cases.

I installed a brand new one (I think only Dorman makes them new, but I could be wrong) a few months before my transfer case got rebuilt. I think the old TC took its toll; the encoder motor worked for a while after the rebuild but then started acting up. Somewhat secretly.

New alternator Friday. Today I buffed, detailed and gassed up. Ready for the week!

Nicely dressed, but I noticed one small missed detail. The two square holes in the front bumper where the license plate mounts. I picked up a couple of chrome carriage head bolts from Ace Hardware to fill those holes on mine. Looks better than having the empty holes.

I actually ordered them in the morning and just got a call from Boostautoparts. They said that these key fobs WILL NOT WORK on my 2005 Escalade EXT, so I had to cancel the order. Now I am confused, somebody is wrong, and I am not sure who exactly :)
Aw man, sorry. I thought they worked on all the GM trucks and SUV’s. Sucks.

So did I. But the rep on the phone said that Escalade is different (I don't know how exactly), so no luck :-(

But anyway, thanks for a lead. At least, we tried!
Strange. Out of curiosity, I looked up replacement fobs for 2003-2006 GMs on Amazon. It was listed as compatible with Chevrolet, GMC, Pontiac, Hummer AND Cadillac. So, I checked the reviews and lots of people said it worked fine on their Escalade. Saw positive reviews for 2003 to 2006 MYs. Seems like it should work.
