My other SUV:

IMG_0609.JPG

2002 Ford Expedition:
2/2 drop w/ Belltech spindles and rear air adjustment
Lightning wheels
Harley Davidson edition valence, fogs and headlights
Billet grilles
LED tails

This photo was from a few years ago. The red paint has faded badly since then (they all do). My plans are to return it to stock (the L wheels are worth more than the SUV) and sell next year. It's been a great truck. But I don't need two full-size SUVs.

My project car:

IMG_20170309_184336093.jpg

1977 Datsun 280Z. Bought the car two years ago. Interior is mint. No rust. Car is complete down to dealer-installed A/C and emergency repair kit. Currently, I have the fuel tank out for refurbishment. Started having driveability issues, and realized the inside of the tank had lots of rust in it. I'm building a rotisserie so I can clean it out and phosphate treat the inside. Rebuilt the engine room fuel system last year. This, along with a new fuel pump, fuel lines and damper should make the fuel system rock solid.

Next up is ss brake lines, exhaust and wheels. And there are a few minor cosmetic issues to repair in a few spots. Otherwise, just drive the crap out of it and enjoy it.

Medium term, I want to retrofit early-style bumpers. Long-term, I want to remove the sunroof and side moldings (a horrible artifact of dealer accessorizing from the 1970's). But that will require a repaint.

LAST MONDAY WAS TAKING MY GIRLS TO SCHOOL, WAS ALREADY GETTING TO THE MIDDLE OF THE INTERSECTION WHERE SOME LADY FLOORED IT FROM THE STOP HIT MY REAR QUARTER BARLEY MISSING THE REAR DOOR WHICH ONE OF THE GIRLS WAS AT. SPUN US A 180 FACING THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION. HER INSURANCE TOTALED THE CAR, BUT WILL BUY THE CAR BACK AND SEE IF I COULD GET IT FIXED. ONLY ISSUE IS THAT THE CAR CAME FROM UP NORTH SO I HAS RUST ON REAR QUARTERS WHICH WAS FIXED BEFORE WITH JUST BANDO, BEFORE I PURCHASED IT.

I like the 280. Growing up my neighbor had either a 240 or 260--don't remember which. Pretty cool little car. On the northeast they're almost impossible to find. They rust to dust. Yours looks super clean. You must be in the desert.

Thank God your girls were unhurt. Gotta make sure they don't give it a salvage title. Happened to me. Also make sure they don't find you at fault either, or even a 49/51 against you. That also happened to me, and I was stopped in traffic when it happened! Good luck to you.

Got the new Smoked headlight stuff for the '06 yesterday. Was rainy here and last night it snowed!
So I'll install them in San Antonio, Texas in a few days.

Ordered new rear door handles for the '06 Silverado work truck.
The roofing nails I used a year ago to fix them are wearing out.

Our other vehicles are not so glorious. Working on arm rests and door handles on the Kia. Replaced starter, alternator, tires, serpentine belt on the Montana. Next up is fog lights and rack and pinion and alignment. AC could use a shot of juice too.
