Steering sector 2006 Yukon xl

I have a leaking steering sector also I have to deal with . How many miles do you get out of one now a days . I know 70s and 80s at 150,000 miles there was normally about 1/4 inch play you could never get out . At 174,000 miles it might be time to replace it and hoses to hydroboost and cooler. I’m at 123k and the steering gear box on my 2006 xl Denali is leaking. I’ve gotta replace it. Gonna have that done next week.

140k here, '05. No leaks. Original pump, lines, steering box.

Play in the steering wheel is about 1/4" as measured from where you put your hands.

If just OEM replacement and you do not have oversized tires.... Delco Pro apparently is the only one that lasts a long time. Others may have more advice hopefully.

Are you talking ac Delco pro reman ?

I could be wrong but I believe all Delco Pro units are all reman units to begin with so do not search for reman specifically, just look up Delco pro.

Changing steering box any pointers ? I'm going to replace a leaking steering box and all the hoses .
Is there any other unforseen things I should replace ? On that system ? Should put new arm on the steering box long as it's apart ? Rigs got 175,000 on it . Also I found a used aluminum tinted matching paint back hatch in pretty good condition . Compared to mine .. ( it's all ripples surface by the wiper arm looks like body shop was rebuilding it looks kind nasty). How Rare is it find a matching color back hatch. Should go pick it up ?
