A few weeks ago I picked up a 95 Tahoe 2dr 4wd. I’d been admiring them for a while but ran across a deal I absolutely could not pass up ($850). It has just over 228,000 miles but you really couldn’t tell by looking at it. The body is super straight but does have a small rust spot on the hood just above the grill on the driver side and the clear coat is peeling on the passenger side B pillar. It does seem
to have had a leak in the rear quarter windows for a bit as there is rust that can be seen in both rear wheel wells as if the water ran down there on the inside and was trapped there.
Other than that, I’ve replaced the brake light switch which fixed both the brake lights and the issue that didn’t allow it to be shifted from park unless it was started in neutral. Issues that still need to be addressed is a small exhaust leak on the driver side and what I believe to be the ac blend door and control panel. The ac control panel seems to go in and out and I’ve read they are the source of common issues on 95’s. The steering wheel also is canted to the left when traveling straight down the road. The truck doesn’t pull in any direction and tracks straight so maybe it just needs an alignment but we shall see. I’m pretty excited about it so far though.

Thanks! Without a doubt I got the deal of a lifetime. And the interior is actually pretty decent and clean all things considered. The only real Issue is the driver seat being torn on the edge and worn a bit on the seat bottom. The carpet isn’t actually torn it’s just the floor mat that’s worn as you can see in the pic.

Sweet score on a favorite around here. Like the blue. Usually see white, black or red. Have fun fixing it up along the way.

Real nice Cameron! Watch those tires though. Plenty of tread but they are dry rotted.

I reckon LMC Truck will be on your short list soon for parts!

At that price you saved enough to LS swap it...

Great truck. Mine is the same color.

Thanks. You have pics of yours? I’m always looking for other blue 2 doors to kinda see what the potential of mine is. As far as the LS swap goes, I have definitely thought about it. But I’m currently working on putting a 6.0 in my 66 Biscayne. Would be awesome to do it in the future to the Tahoe though.

Yeah I saw the tires. The previous owner put new tires on it a few years ago and just never really drove it. The tread is pretty much as it was when they were new. I’m looking at wheel and tire options now. Thanks for making sure I was aware of them though.

I had a 2 door 2wd. I loved it. I got rid of it for a few reasons, but a large one was because the rear quarter windows leaked and I couldn't find anyplace that was willing to take them out to redo them. I finally found a guy and he handled one, but wouldn't do the other one. Apparently they don't make the quarter window glass anymore, so if it gets broken it's nearly impossible to track down. Between the leaking and stressing about rocks or just random punk kids breaking my windows, I couldn't drive it daily anymore without being stressed about it. Someone offered me a pretty good amount of cash for it, so I sold it. Here's pics:

Just out of curiosity, i called our local glass installer and asked for a Lt rear side glass with privacy tint for a 99' 2 door Tahoe. He looked it up and said his distributor has one in stock. Apparently they can still be had.

That’s a nice Tahoe you had. I’m curious about the rear window glass also. I was thinking of going to a local glass company and asking if they’d replace the seal for me and go from there. Then say a prayer no glass was broken in the process. Lol

That ride was sweet. Too bad you had to sell it.

where do you see that it is for 4 door only?
I see now where it says that. I would be interested to call them and ask what that's all about.

Yeah, I'm sure it's a mistake that they show the 2 door picture, but it's a pretty misleading mistake

Thanks! It got stressful knowing the book value was like $1500 for it if I had an accident, and the leaky glass was kind of a bummer too. I love cool cars, but I'm big on daily driving them so this one had to go. Maybe the glass people in your area are way more resourceful than I could find here, and it wouldn't be as big of a deal

Thanks man. After this I took over my 05 Denali from the wife and I love that car. I am getting the itch to start modifying it, though.
