Hey guys, well... i finally went ahead and jumped into the torsion key lift, i got the keys off no problem, but when i put the replacement ones on and go to re-tension them, i cannot get the key into its correct position to allow me to reinstall the adjuster bolt support and bolt.

I marked the torsion bars with white paint to check the alignment, its a bit off about 1/4 an inch, but i have no idea why...

any help is appreciated, ive got the truck up on stands and daylight is fading fast.

can u take a pic at all? i will know what ur talking about if i see it! thanks, hope u figure it out.

ill attempt a pic a little later. The issue is that i cannot get the torsion key to lift high enough to get the adjuster nut and bolt back into the crossmember.

are you missing the metal fingers that slide out and back in to hold the keys from flying out? sorry i dont know the name of them. they slide all the way through the crossmembers holding the key while the bolt is not installed. you have to use the tool or puller to push the key up high enough to stick the tabs back in. then the bolt should be easy.

the metal support for the keys is fine, i just cant get the key itself raised high enough to re-install the metal support. I have the 100 dollar c-clamp that is sold to do this specific application, so im not sure what the issue is here, its getting aggrivating. I think i pulled something in my arm while cranking on this thing so hard haha

well, im gonna go back out there and give it another shot. Im going to try lubing the Bolt section of the C-clamp to see if it is perhaps just seizing under pressure... let you guys know in a few.

well, it seems as with most difficult things in life, all it takes is some lube to get the job done. I think the tool was binding perhaps, so i wd-40'd the piss out of it and managed to get everything cranked up. I am concerned about the slight gap between the torsion bar and the inside of the crossmember, but i really cant do much to correct it, ive cranked the t-bar up at least 4 times to try to make it fit closer but dont have the strength or patience left to try it again.
