You said it rides nice, but are the shocks about bottomed out?

I honestly don't know. It doesn't seem like it from the ride quality.

First off... thanks for the compliment.

Yes, it lifted it just a little bit after I shortened the auto level links.

I liked the look with it all the way down but when hitting a small dip in the road it would cause the axle to bit the frame. And before anyone asks, YES I did the free travel mod.

That is what I was saying is the plug nuts appear to be in the same location as mine, yet mine looks lower than yours in the rear, so it must be the wheels/tires.

No... alignment won't lift it.

Like @randeez said.... if shocks are too long and bottomed out it will hold the rear up.... but it would ride like crap.

I found an air shock that has the same dimensions as the Belltech drop shock and used those to keep my auto level since I have kids and luggage and a trailer and what not.

Any time.

I notice now my front lip hits when going through dips or up slight inclines. I feel like a tuner car having to go at an angle to clear inclines or dips, haha.

I think you're on to something with the wheel/tire combo. Unfortunately I don't plan to go any bigger than 18s at this time. Current stockers will be on for a while until I get my suspension squared the I'm planning on 18s

I didn't think so, about the alignment. But thought I'd ask.

I will check my shocks this weekend to be sure about the length.

Could pull the shocks and see if it sits any lower....I think I ordered my shocks on like 18" eye to eye at ride height with the 4" spring with spacer. You've got to be in the 13-14" rideheight, fully compressed is going to need to be like 10"

The shocks I bought are 21" extended and 13" compressed and my axle will hit the frame (W/free travel mod) before the shocks bottoms out.

Thanks for the info, I'll check mine this weekend and see what they come out to be and go from there.

Thanks a bunch
I appreciate everyone's help

If you don't have shock extenders in the rear you need some. The front fenders you can roll the inside lip pretty easy with a hammer just be careful not to do it so you see it on the outside.

Yes sir, I do have the extenders. Though I'm not too fond of the DJM style. I'd prefer the Bell Tech but they are not compatible with the DJM link relocating kit.

Can I use the ole baseball bat method?

Does the inner liner move easily? I've never really looked at how they come out.

The plastic liner comes out easy but the fender lip isn't like the older trucks. I used a small sledge hammer to gain a little more room.

I have to get a picture next to my wife's Charger. It sits as low if not lower than hers :)

I'm not affected by speed bumps but, certain spots of my route to work, I have to slow to almost a stop because my front valance will scrape. I think I'm going to have to trim it down some before it gets ripped off.
I'll be back tomorrow with some more shots of it :)

Here's a few shots.
Didn't have a can for that popular shot so I used my 16' fatmax. Its just at 3-3/4" off the ground :)
I think I'll have to go coil-overs out back to level it out. But, that'll have to wait as I'm in the beginning stages of redoing my rear all together. Coil-overs are in the plans though.

Need bigger wheels.

It's been a long hard debate in the wheels department for me, haha.
I'm going to end up with two sets because my end goal is to have this on an autocross course. That set will be 18s and I'd like to stick with 20s for daily use and store the 17s for back up. Even though I really like the Z28 reps. Not sure I'll be able to swing the big boys with this drop.

I just don't know my friend, that's why I'm rockin the stockers :)

Took my little girl to the park and snapped a couple of shots.

Man I need to do something with that rake.

I'm either going to have to buy new uppers and raise it up front or start cutting for some coil overs mounts out back. I refuse to cut coils to lower any more.

I've decided to get a little creative with the rear. So, I'm saving up for some rod ends and few other brackets and some material to reinforce a few things. I also need to clearance the cross member for the pan hard bar.

Tomorrow, I'll be getting under it because its making noise again. This time its getting some red Loctite. Hopefully that'll hold for a while until I figure out the layout of what's coming next.

Well, its about 80 something out. I hope everyone had a great Friday :)

Thanks man, I appreciate it

Awww, I feel the love

Sorry man... kind of an inside joke... lol

Your truck does look really good BTW.

Did you ever decide on wheels???

If your thinking about 20's you may wanna hold off on going any lower or they may not fit... unless you go with low profile tires.

find some 20" steelies

run a smaller tire up front? you're 2wd right - wont fix the rake but atleast get the fender gap to match a little better

Yeah, kinda figured haha

Thanks

Not yet, I need to get the bugs worked out of this suspension first. I'm planning on tubs to, so hopefully that'll help with clearance issues.

I was considering Detroit steels. My suspension is consuming me though, hah. Once its complete, I'll focus more on the wheels.

Yes, 2wd. Once I get the mounts and coil-overs, the gap will match. I'd rather not run two different size tires.

I am curious to see pics when you clearance the crossmember for the panhard bar.

I get a thump when I go over a bump to fast... I assumed it was the axle hitting the frame but it could be the crossmember and panhard bar i guess... haven't been back under there to look... lol

Have you done the free travel mod for the axle hitting the frame? The other thing that hits is the panhard bar on the passenger side end link. DJM sells a set of offset end links for that.

Yes I did and yes I do have the DJM end links as well as the Spohn Panhard bar...

It was actually NorcalSS that mentioned the panhard bar may be hitting the crossmember to me... I just remember 992dr saying something about possibly clearancing his so I figured there would be pics involved.

I think Tony's 6" springs for the Tahoe may be slightly lower for the long body.

Without the auto leveling hooked up the axle has maybe 2" until it touches the frame... not a while lot of travel... I honestly don't know how you could use these springs and NOT do the free travel mod.
