On vacation a month ago my car was completely dead in the morning, jumped it and the electronics would go on but the car wouldn’t start. Had it towed to the dealer and got a ride home 200mi away. Took them several days of digging to find a loose ground wire or connection to fix the problem - they weren’t exactly sure what caused it though.

Today, the freaking thing wouldn’t start after I remote started the engine and walked up to it. All the dash electronics go on like before, but the push button start doesn’t get it into drive mode. I also held one of the fob buttons that made all the windows go down - while raining - and I cant get them to go back up either.

I think there is something with the theft deterrent system. Going to have it towed to the dealer in the morning.

It has 25k miles, so 5k miles from the warranty being over and I can seeing this being a huge liability if not fixed. And I’m scared to take it to anywhere far in case it happens again. Anyone else have this problem?

I thought so too and didn’t bother to answer but since this thread keeps popping up....first thing i would do is check the ground cable on the battery after that i would replace the battery.... who knows if it was dead on the lot before you bought it. Battery prob has a bad cell in it. Dont care if they say it test good or not, fight for a new battery. No matter tho you are sending it to the dealership, they will blow smoke up your ...and tell you some bs.... i can just about guarantee that there is bad ground or battery in your truck, nothing more.

Well they got it fixed - swapped some parts with loose wires behind the dash. Fingers crossed.

This had happened to me on my 2016 Yukon Denali XL 6.2 four-wheel drive. My problem ended up throwing a code it was the sensor in the air Inlet tube . The mass air flow sensor. And it also would not start once it had turned off. I could have went to the market parked it as normal and then came back and it would just crank and crank and crank and no start once I replace the sensor the problem went away
