HiHoeSilver
Away!
Haha that’s twice this week I missed the opportunity to get red parts and be faster! It’s gonna be soooo slow when I get done.

Yup. You're down 10-15 HP already, for sure.

@HiHoeSilver I’ll just grab a red CAI that should easily add back the lost 10-15 HP with another 10-15 on top.![]()

My entire house inside and out is led swappedHaha hints the “afraid of the dark” tag, and honestly I love light, all the bulbs in my house are hand picked temps for the area they are in lol.
Are those the same led pods you ordered? I remember seeing how bright your liftgate was when I looked through the thread.

They look pretty damn white to me. Great upgrade.

Been there before! Sux, but at least you got it out of the way now instead of it breaking far from home.So close but not out of the woods yet. Most everything has shown up just waiting on tie-rods, will be putting the lift on and rebuilding all the steering over Xmas week, got a shop that can do the alignment scheduled for the 29th. Crossed all my I’s and dotted my T’s, lol.

And then there was that sinking feeling you get when you know something important just broke.......
I blew up my 4l65 shortly after installing my blower and went with a Performabuilt Level 3 Performance series. My truck was down for awhile but I think it was worth it, seems like a great trans. Good luck, hopefully you'll be back on track soon.View attachment 188902
On the way home from work Friday as I started to accelerate from a 20mph zone to a 35mph I noticed the tach climbing and climbing but wasn’t feeling the pull that should go along with it....Oh NO! I let out of gas for a second and slowly got back into it and she went right to the red line without so much as flinching. The clutch is toast! I’m losing speed bad at this point and almost got stuck on the hill I was going up but just made it to the top and turned off into a Papa Johns. Was able to let it sit for a minute and get the remains of my clutch plates to drop out of the filter long enough to drive it 2 more miles to a shop I pass everyday. Guys were super helpful, hooked me up with a local transmission shop that specializes in chevy based drag racing. Waited 4 hours for a tow, which they comped cause it was suppose to take 30mins but their tow truck broke down lol, the guy at the trans shop stayed late and waited on me so we could get my poor baby in the shop and on a lift that night. Said he will build me a trans that’s inline with performabuilt’s HD Hauler 4l60e and have it done by Tuesday.
Hate that this happened now, I knew it was on it’s last leg but was hoping I could make it through Xmas and at least get the lift on before having to do the trans, I wanted to order a performabuilt in like Feb. But with the way everything is scheduled and getting time off work to do it all, I’ll have to go with this plan now. Guy at the trans shop definitely knows his stuff. Seem like some good old boys who like to go fast on chevy parts.

The Performabuilt has been great, the 1-2 shift especially is so fast and hard. I also used an FTI triple disk billet converter with 2800 stall and that's working well with my setup. Not sure what kind of stall you're putting in but the converter needs to be beefy too. If your converter goes, it will probably damage your trans. A good converter will set you back some cash (mine was $1500) but it's not something to take lightly either.Yeah just thinking I am about to load it up full of stuff and drive 300+ miles for Xmas I’m definitly glad it happened now instead of then.
How has the lvl 3 treated you so far? I wish I had time to get a Performabuilt sent out.
The guy doing it said he doesn’t do the corvette servo or the Sonnax super hold, told me to sell/return the ones I just bought. Says he does a bunch of other servo modification paired with a custom shift kit he puts together and heavy accumulator modification to pretty much remove the pauses between the 3-4 clutch shifts, 2nd to 3rd and 3rd to 4th. Said I can tow in overdrive with 36x15.50 tires and 500hp/500lb-ft of torque well over what my tired 5.3 makes now but perfect for when it gets rebuilt. He’s gonna use the Beast sun shell and mentioned he has a special 10 plate clutch pack to replace the 6 plate version, and gonna change up the stall with a stronger torq converter. That all sounds amazing but I don’t really know transmissions like that. I know what he’s talking about and what parts those are and how the work but I don’t know which brands or combination of parts are good, better, best....

I'm curious what converter he's putting in. You should find out when you pay the bill.I’m not sure what stall he is putting in it, I left that up to him to decided based off what I told him I do with it, mostly just said make it as strong as possible my budget is flexible all I care about is that it’s way stronger for the future upgrades and daily driving and all the towing. I tow regularly and weight gets up in 7000lb range.
