I have a 2015 Tahoe (original owner) and the AC went out a week ago. The diagnosis was that the condenser is leaking and the cost was quoted at $1,500. How come so many owners are having this same issue? I love this truck but i can't believe my first GM purchase is giving me such a major issue. GM Please help.

Same here. I am the original owner of my 2015 Tahoe. It now has 52000 miles and has been to the shop at 3 times and I still have no air conditioning. They have recharged it and still can't find the leak, even after dye. I am beginning to wonder what kinda clowns are working on the problem. When I called the service department I was talked to like I had a 3rd grade education and told, "Freon is a gas. Gas is invisible." I am at my word end and I plan to tell everyone I come in contact with NOT TO BUY A CHEVY!!

Hey Phil,

Congratulations on your new purchase! I am sorry to hear you are having this concern with your air conditioning. I would like to reach out to your Chevrolet dealership on your behalf. Please private message me your name, VIN, phone number, and dealership name. I look forward to hearing from you soon.

I too am having an AC issue with my 2015 Tahoe LT. Suddenly the AC stopped blowing cold air and started blowing hot air. After taking it to the Chevy dealer that I purchased it from, I was told they can not find the part - could be up to two weeks or more and that they would place me on a waiting list!

My extended warranty will pay for the part and the fix but the part is on back-order! I was told this was an issue Chevy was aware of.

The warranty will not allow an after-market part and I prefer to keep all Chevy parts as well as the validation of the warranty I paid for.

I am dissappointed to say the least. My expensive new Tahoe with extended warranty is unable to be fixed.

I live in Texas and it is already upwards of 90° in April. I NEED A CAR WITH WORKING A/C!!!

Anyone else have a this issue? Were you compensated with a rental car?

I'm having the same issue and don't have an extended warranty. I also have a 2015 Tahoe LT purchased in March 2015.

I'm having the exact same issue and yes, the condenser is on backorder. This is absolutely ridiculous. I have a '15 Tahoe with 56K miles out of warranty. I contacted GM and demanded they help with this. This is clearly either a faulty part or a problem with the freon charge at the factory. Either case GM should be held accountable. This is not how you win loyal customers.

There was a freon charge problem from the factory on 2015s and either a recall or TSB and also a new AC sticker for under the hood indicating the correct freon fill amount.

my 2015 Tahoe LTZ joins the ranks as one that has AC problems. I'm told the condenser is the culprit and that there is no ETA on when the part will come off national back order. Truck sat at dealership for almost a week with no fix. I'm going on the 4th week with no AC. Does anyone have any additional info as to when the condenser may be available for our vehicles? In addition, I have a case opened with GM Customer Care, but they're not really able to do anything as yet.

My AC condenser has also gone out. Over 1,000 to fix on 2015 Tahoe. I have reported to GM but could everyone please go to safercar.gov and report the issue to them? I have filed my complaint with them. There is obviously a huge issue with these parts. They are the ones that investigate recalls. I have googled this particular issue and there are a ton!! Thanks!

Same issue has been present in my 2015 Yukon XL Denali - intermittent working and then not working. Took to the dealer a week ago and they diagnosed it as a leak in the condenser to condenser line. Replaced, for $364, and said "AC is now operating as designed". First time using the A/C since then (and it did work, intermittently apparently, on the way home from the dealer) yesterday as temps have been cool and again the A/C is blowing warm air. Taking it back into the dealer this morning again...I have searched and found so many complaints about this issue - has anyone had luck in actually getting this fixed? Was GM any help at all? GM, any thoughts? The truck only has 48k miles on it...

Update - leak also in the condenser that is causing the fail where it bolts on to the radiator. Dealer told me this is a known issue but there is no replacement part available to order due to availability and demand because so many are affected. Also, GM says only one condenser per VIN can be ordered due to this shortage. XL parked next to mine in lot has same issue he said. Recall soon???

Add me to the list. 2015 Tahoe LTZ purchased new 3 years ago (68k miles). A/C not working and determined I need a new condenser. Part on backorder. Dealer not being very helpful on my behalf in contacting GM especially since they know so many customers are in same position. Was told it will cost approx $2000! Will not be buying another GM car and will be getting rid of this one as soon as I can get it fixed!

Glad you got it fixed @ the dealer. The biggest cause on non working a/c.........low on Freon. As for the fuse panel on the outer l/side of the dash, pull from the bottom and it will pop loose. Good luck and stay cool.

I own a 2015 Tahoe and live in the Pacific NW (AC used three months out the year, maybe). Eight months ago (end of last year warm season) the AC stopped working, of course it is out of warranty paid over $850 at local Chevy dealer to put in new Condenser. Go to use AC for first time this season and it stops working, same thing. Take it to same dealer and I am told that now the Compressor is leaking at a tune of $960!! This is absolutely craziness, the AC is a new vehicle should not be going bad. No accidents or any reason this is happening. I bought Chevy believing I was buying quality. I have kids in sports and drive a lot so it is important to be safe and comfortable.
I am a single mom and I have never had trouble like this with a new car. Checking with three different dealers/automotive AC repair companies I was told by all three that this should not be occurring in my very new and expensive vehicle and that it is likely the condenser was not bad in the first place and was the compressor all along and once refilled with Freon it worked for a bit but now leaked out again and I am asked to pay the labor all over again.

Very Very unhappy customer and feeling like Chevy is not a good product, never any issues like this with Honda or Toyota I have owned- normal stuff and if accident or mechanical stuff, brakes, yes all that happens, but AC in a newer vehicle-2 Xs in less than 1 year, NO! #takenforaridebyChevy #faultyproduct #chevydisspointing

Have any of you been able to get the condenser replaced yet? Mine has been without AC for 4 weeks now and I'm beyond frustrated with this national back order issue, especially since it's 90 degrees outside.
