I am really considering purchasing a used supercharger kit at this point and wondering if anyone had any comments on what I should look out for?

It will be a crap shot in the dark for sure but to have something California legal is my main concern without buying something new.

Nevermind... seeing the kit on blackbear and seeing what I would be buying used on ebay made me realize it might be more headache trying to go the used route...

Yeah I considered trying to go used or piece together one but it looks like a huge hassle and then I wouldn't feel confident. I just bought the bullet and ordered a Whipple kit from BB. A lot of money but I'll know I'm doing it right.

so many unknowns. gaskets, pulleys, bolts, so on. Trying to chase down missing pieces can be more a headache than trying to put it together.

I might end up going down that same path after some aggressive saving.

Completely agreed!

Unless you know who is selling, it is a crap shoot. The used systems we have sold off of our own vehicles, we send in for a certified refresh. We also typically include a new box 2.

An ebay turbo install would be better option, pretty good reviews and following from some guys on PT

with that particular one being local to you, then you have the opportunity to see it and verify that it is complete before you buy it. Not only could you save on shipping, but the guy might be open to a cash offer. That is, if he responds.

Agreed, the wife convinced me to just wait and buy a new in box system or find a 6.2 engine/trans/ecu/harness swap that in and supercharge it.

Says she wants to drive the fastest SUV in the valley... ok then!

Can your wife talk to my wife and teach her that it is okay to modify vehicles? Lol

Depending on what kind of charger is, you may be able to buy they box that contains all needed accessories to install it

Lol. After a weekend out of state and renting a 6speed skat pack challenger, she was hooked. Maybe do the same, let her drive it and get that want to go fast bug.

Agreed, thinking this all through my best bet will be to go new versus trying to price it together. In my younger days I pieced together a turbo on a Celica gts but I think a supercharger on something the wife drives shouldn't be home brew with parts and reliability.
