Arnott shocks

Looking into replace my shocks does anyone on here run the Arnott shocks? Not the conversion kit that converts to non air shocks the passive air shocks are what I am looking into

Several people do run the Arnott Airride shocks.

They are the recommended replacements afaik.

I have their passive replacements. When I bought them, they had new Bilstein branded rear air shocks which are the ones I bought. I got them in a complete kit which had passive fronts as well along with compressor and air dryer rebuild kit. I did have a couple of issues with their bypass resistors that eliminate the magnetic damping which is why they're called passive. They replaced the resistors under warranty but I went ahead and soldered in some wire wound resistors instead in order to eliminate future problems. The shocks and air compressor still work great and it's been a year and a half so far. I'm happy with their products but have heard to stay away from their " rebuilt" shocks which aren't actually rebuilt.

Just priced out there kit it's like $700 is this the kit you run?

Thanks, I'll more then likely go with this kit, I love how the factory air ride works, but just not worth spending $1300 on new shocks + compressor and any sensors that might be bad

I don't see the Bilstein shocks on their website anymore. I still see them for sale on eBay and other websites. How to the passive Arnott/Bilstein front and rear shocks ride? I dont like a stiff ride, but not soft either. I hated the Bilstein 5100's on my lifted Jeep Grand Cherokee, too stiff.

5100's are valved differently than 4600's. I have 5100's on my jeep and 4600's, which i assume is the valving that the air shocks use, on my denali.

5100s are digressive and 4600s are linear, so 4600s feel a bit less stiff in general. STill much more controlled than most other shocks.

Really? Thanks. I wonder how the newer non-Bilsteins compare, they look cheaper.

I run the Arnott's rear shocks and compressor and they have been great! Had an issue with one shock shortly after i bought it and since I bought the compressor at the same time they warrantied my shock without any issues! No complaints here and I've been running them for about 5 years now!

Honestly, as good if not better! Basically they are rebuilt OEM shocks and I'm pretty sure mine were leaking some anyways before leading to the compressor giving out so the Arnott's seemed to be just a bit better!

Gonna go this route, was gonna go OEM but it adds up quick plus if you need sensors your looking at over 2k

Yeah, I was gonna do the OEM route as well at the time but even with my dad's connection at work at the time to get OEM parts at cost it still was too expensive for my blood! I really haven't been disappointed with the Arnott stuff, well worth the money in my opinion if you wanna keep the auto level setup for the rear! Best off getting the rear shocks with a compressor from them all at the same time, that way you don't have any issues with warranty if you need to use it!

The OEM route is ridiculously expensive. I would have loved to have kept it, but no way could i have justified that.

What front shocks did you use? At Shockwarehouse.com They have the Arnott premium Monotube SK-2814 for $188 and cheaper one (probably twin tube). Would a regular 4600 for $70 or Fox 2.0 (985-02-009) for $130 be good for the front?

Not sure about fox's specifically, but I run a standard shock like a 4600 on the front.

Thanks. I know you cant tell by looking at pictures. But besides paint, the Monroe Relfex Monotube looks just like the Arnott Premium Monotube. YOu think They rebranded them and upped the price?

Probably. They used to use bilsteins, and advertised them as such. That being said most monotubes look just like that. They don't make their own shocks... would not surprise me at all if they used a tenneco (Monroe) built shock though

Ah, so their special addition is this:

Arnott's new exclusive design includes a sensor which plugs into the auto-damping system to eliminate dash panel error messages.

They have added a built in resistor. Shrug. Not worth it to me over much less expensive bilsteins at all, espcially since you don't really know what shock you are getting. If you are deleting you just unplug the sensor on the shock and tuck it out of the way, disconnect the battery, pull the relay for the autoride, and reconnect the battery and the truck will have no error messages. I've been running mine that way for over a year with no errors.
