To many post on social media and on many forums are about "truck builds" with overdone pieces of crap. Well here is my underdone and constant in need of attention Yukon. I bought a lot of parts for it and haven't built a single piece for it. But hey, its my piece of crap and I plan on buying more parts for it at the years go on. I have been around these trucks for past decade. Started with my 02 Burgundy Beast (pictured below), moved on to a F250 and quickly returned to a 07 Denali (also below). Well I got bored with the Denali and decided to buy a cheap play toy, the 04 SLT Yukon. Paid $5000 for it with a blown a/c and 164k on it. All together with the a/c, lift setup, and wheels, I have about $7500 wrapped up at the most. I drive about 40 miles every day, and I just jump in it and go. No thrills, no fancy gadgets, just point and go. Ill post pictures from time to time. Many of you may be part of the z71tahoesuburban facebook page and see me post over there. Like i said, been around for a while and if you have any questions feel free to message me.

I definitely like the simplicity of it and the fact that it's a clean, solid driver. :) I do miss your old Denali but definitely understand the appeal of going the direction you've gone and enjoy seeing new pics on IG when you post them :)

You and I still should have traded rides before we both went back to NBS SUV's...Just saying.

With that said you know how I feel about your NBS. I love that thing and you are part of the reason I went back to a NBS Tahoe as well. Can't wait to see what else you end up doing.

You know, we should have just swapped and called it a day. Although I would have lifted the Silverado.
I can't blame you there though, because I wanted to do the same thing. I think both of us are enjoying the modding and money in the bank though.

I added a Valentine One radar this week. Got the concealed display along with a hardwire kit that allows me to tap into the rear view mirror. I am thinking about modding the mirror to house the V1, and then add the concealed display in one of the open cubbies in the console. I have seen a couple pictures online where people have hidden then V1 completely. Hopefully I have some time do all that soon.

Anyone had a wandering issue with the 00-06 trucks? Mine has done it even before the lift. Any suggestions or recommendations?

Trying to decide which mod to do next. All new headlights/running lights/fogs, or, head unit?

This truck is about to become a third vehicle and not my DD so I will be able to do more with it and not worry about the down time. Thinking motor swap, trans swap, new gears (4.56-4.88s), and 37s for show, new 35s for go. I figured $5-10k in this truck is still better than $40k+ for a new one.

I'd be tempted to go the head unit and audio upgrade for now but what condition are your lights in now? If your headlights and such are aging/hazy then go that route and give the lighting a fresh look.

....and I agree about 5-10k on this is better than 40k for a newer one.

They aren't in bad shape. The fog lights have seen better days though. I actually just lost the lens on one and my HIDs melted the other fog. Been seeing a lot of cleared headlights online but I really want a cleared Denali housing.
