1999 GMC Yukon SLT 4 doors, Ideas? help.

I will be acquiring one of these trucks in June, and I want to plan ahead.

This will be my 1st vehicle and 1st project.
I want to do many things, 1st being what ever I need to fix, a couple things I know I will need to fix the gas gauge, as it does not read correct gas amount, and the passenger side door handle.

The truck is identical to the one in the photo

Here is a list of things I know I want to do

lift the truck, (not sure how much)

get bigger wider tires/rims (black)​

put amps and subs into the truck
change light covers/lights
Lights on roof?
Visor​

Again, this is my first project, so I dont know where to look or what to look for completely.
I am also looking for more ideas. if you have any please share in the comments

Gas gauge not reading correctly is normally (90% of the time) the sending unit inside the gas tank put possible the cluster.

The door handle is a very easy and cheap fix.

any documentation of the intake manifold gaskets being done?

First vehicle.......... lesson 1, do all of the maintenance before things like different wheels/tires and stereo equipment. Kind of goofy to spend money thing that do not help the drive ability and reliability of the vehicle

that was the idea, its my aunts truck right now, and once i get my liscense its mine, she still drivees it regularly, no problems with it other than what was mentioned, but are minor things

If you're waiting almost a year I'd ask your aunt to pop into all 4wd modes every month or so to keep it working. I have a 4 door 99 Lt and I'll say these trucks are pretty cool as is. My only real complaint is the cup holders lol. So maybe find a center console that fits and actually has cup holders

Also matching the tint on the front windows helps the look

If you're waiting almost a year I'd ask your aunt to pop into all 4wd modes every month or so to keep it working. I have a 4 door 99 Lt and I'll say these trucks are pretty cool as is. My only real complaint is the cup holders lol. So maybe find a center console that fits and actually has cup holders

No just the stupid one that pulls out of the dash and splits into two. My 92 had a great console/cup holders....could fit a big gulp!

yeah sorry @Allan Thompson

as far as your question. I would defiantly check any maintenance items first.
1: Plugs and Wires (ac delco only)
2: fuel and air filter
3: brakes
4 : check the head gaskets and see if it has the fuel injector system

all of these are things I would do before any mods.

I love my cup holders. But then again I put the escalade/denali center console in mine.

This is what I'm talking about! I just want a spot for my coffee, smokes/lighter and my phone. I still can't complain about the 99 LT but it's odd something so basic got screwed up.

Ps I love my OBS and will forever keep it going

I have another escalade/denali console in a parts vehicle but its missing the lid (took it off for mine because it was broke) and missing the rear cup holder (took it off for mine but I need the rear piece where the cup holder goes to...mine and that one is broken). Lol
