This was my first CAI tube wrap, SO I didn't wrap the couplers.

This is how I currently Wrap CAI Tubes.
Coupler, MAF. From end to end.
I also wrap ALL Hot Lines and hoses. Under hood heat reduction has been substantial!

Coating the Tube and my old set of headers.
Its Sprayed inside and out, then baked with the heat gun.

Use this stuff and 3M super 77 spray adhesive to stick it on the box.

No, no problem there. The stock MAF is utilized so it's not an issue.

It'***** or miss. Had a check engine light on my 05 with a full k&n cai kit. Either because the maf gets too much air or the oil residue fom the filter is hitying the maf wires .
It doesn't hurt anything but for me I won't drive around my truck with a check engine light on the dash. So I took it off and sold it.
That's why I'm getting the air raid jr.

Or get the gm cai , I would assume that sends no codes

Just don't over-oil the filter. And if you do, clean your MAF - it's real easy with my Spectre. But I've never had a problem anyway.

Been running my K & N air intake for years now and never gotten a code from it (plus I always make sure I never over oil it). Also, if you have to clean your MAF, be sure to get the cleaner specific for cleaning MAF's and let it air dry (no compressed air, had a friend do it and it was no good! lol)

Absolutely! Airaid MIT with a drop in filter is the way to go

I'm currently in the market for one as well. Think I might see if I can find that GM intake online. Does the stock airbox bring in cold air from the bottom of the box somewhere? Like is there a tube that leads to another area? I haven't had a chance to even open my airbox yet since I just bought my truck very recently.

I may sell it and try a different brand

Id check the code, may be another issue. I've been running my Spectre Intake for years now without an issue.

I've been running the Spectre also, which is just like the K&N, and no problems. It's been on a year and a half.
