Tons of info on lowering a Yukon, but very little on lifting one. Has anyone lifted their 4x4 Yukon or Tahoe? Any info would be welcomed on ride quality, brand, price, etc...

I know it's a soccer mom/grocery getter vehicle, but I'm trying to masculinize this thing somewhat.

Thanks in advance.

keys and spacers is the most popular route. You will be able to fit 33s with some minor trimming. 6in will fit 35s and anything bigger is a little much for a grocery getter

Yeah best bet is to check out Rough Country Leveling Kits. RC makes a kit for Yukons that is $260 Comes with Keys, Rear Spacers, and Shocks

I've cranked on the torsion keys and brought the front end up. I'm going to look into going to a 285/70R17 tire. I'll need new wheels with more backspace if I want to go bigger.

Turned in the man card and gave up my 3500 4x4 Cummins for this Yukon. Trying to undue some of the douche factor of driving a stock SUV.

Ford keys, 2" coil spacers, and bilstein 5100 shocks front and back will clear a 33" tire with the proper offset. I don't like lifting these trucks unless you do an 8" kit or larger

im in the process of doing the keys ( superlift) and 1.5 spacers in the back with 285/75/16 tires on the stock wheels, should look nice. It all depends on the lift you are going for. Are you going for the "look at what im compensating for " look or for something you can actually use offroad.

Both, I want the look and the capabilities. I know this isn't a rock crawler, but I want to feel comfortable out on the trails.

A small increase in ground clearance while maintaining a somewhat stock appearance is what I'm after.

the only way you're gonna gain ground clearance is bigger wheels/tires, just so you know.......

I talked to a local tire company, and they said i could fit a 285/75/r16 on my stock Tahoe. So is this not true, I currently have 265's on there now and there doesn't look like there is too much room left so i don't know anymore?

yep, can easily fit 285/75/16. got a set of nitto terra grapplers and i got to work a little bit to rub. grant it i dont get real wild but ive been up some pretty washed out roads with a lot of trenches and only rubbed a few times. didnt touch the keys or anything. the only thing i did was i pulled the front of the front driverside fenderwell forward just a little bit with a bit of wire. cant tell its there and gives just enough clearance to keep it from rubbin.

Just bought 1"-3" lift keys of ebay for $65 shipped. Put stock rear springs back in and should have a set of 295/70/17 Terra Grappler AT mounted this weekend. Of course w/pics. Edlebrock has a sale on shocks right now. $25.87 a piece w/free shipping. These are for cranked keys or up to 2" of lift in the front. Use "catalog2010" in the code for free shipping. About 20 guys on GMFS have bought these & say they are great shocks for 1/3 the price if Bilstiens. GMFS has a much larger group of lifted trucks for reference also.

I ordered the Truxxx system with new keys and spacers for the rear. Once installed, I'll upgrade to 285's. I'll post pics when the install is complete.

Truxxx 404012 if you're curious.
