Recently picked this up in PA for $2500.

2002 Chevy Suburban
180k on body
120 on Replaced Engine (paperwork included)
Less than 5k on Rebuilt Trans (paperwork included) - Rebuilt by someone who knows what they are doing. If you're in PA and need a 4L60E tran rebuilt, talk to this guy: https://allentown.craigslist.org/ptd/6174462303.html

Interior 9/10
Only a single rust spot on the exterior - no other rot issues.

It does a few weird things, maybe some people could shed some light?

Between 45-55mph, while in final gear, it kind of rumbles a bit, almost like its missing - its not crazy rough but enough that I notice it. Maybe Tune up? Trans was a little low when I picked it up, not by much but just a little - I don't think that would cause this issue.

Howling at speeds above 20 mph from the front. Tone changes with speed, stops momentarily when I let off the gas, then starts howling again - wheel bearing? Its what it sounds and feels like to me. I can feel the "howl" in the wheel while its happening.

Mine was making noises when I got it too. New front wheel bearing and rear u-joint fixed that. For the rumbling in final gear I'd say start with cleaning out the sludge in the engine. I used seafoam in the gas, oil and through the intake but a lot of people say to use kleen so I'm gonna do that next.

I am definitely going to do some sea-foam (intake only) and a tune up. Deff wheel bearing looked at sometime soon.

Little tip if you do the front bearing yourself. If you can't get it out after removing everything them thread a bolt back in a little bit put some extensions on it and crank the wheel till the extension hits the frame. It's basically like having a hydraulic press pushing it out. Very simple

i have 190k on my 2002 yukonxl and it has had what i would call whistling noise coming from trans/drive or rear since i bought it 10yrs ago with 65k on it. i have never replaced anything and the ujoints are still tight, and the rear diff was flushed and refilled 2 yrs ago and it was clean anyway. it has never gotten any worse. i think the rumbling in overdrive is probably a kind of lugging due to low rpm if you have a low ratio diff. i had a 98 z71 that did that unless i was on the highway, so i would lock out the overdrive if i was driving around town. -pt

Trans bit the dust. Slipping in second after overheating. Bah. Off to the rebuild shop!

So here is what ended up needing done on the transmission.

Rebuild consists of:
* Reman Pump
* Reman Torue Converter
* New Stater Support in Pump
* Superior Power Valve
* Upgraded Pressure Spring for Pump
* TransGo Shift Kit - Better Flow - New TCC Valve
* New TransGo Harnded Valve Body Plate
* Reman Input Drum
* All Clutch packs Replaced, Performance added Green 3/4 High Energy Friction Clutches
* New Accumulator Pistons (Aluminum)
* New Servo Pin
* New D-ring on Servo
* New Servo Springs
* 3 New Solenoids & pressure switch manifold.
* New Internal Wiring Harness
* New Bushings all around
* High Energy Band
* New Check Bolt Capsule
* New release load springs for 3/4 pack
* Hardened GM Sun Shell
* Rear Planetary (4 Pinion)
* Front Planetary (w/ wide bearing upgrade - more surface area, less fatigue)
* New Input Sprag
* New Boost Valve & Sleeve in Pump
* New Thrust Washers for Transmission

Additional work being done:
* Aftermarket Trans Cooler (13,000btu cooler)
* Glowshift Trans Temp Gauge
* GlowShift Gauge Pod
* Replacing Radiator
* Coolant Flush

$2700 later, I got my truck back.

Trans Complete Rebuild w/ 2 year 24k warranty, New Radiator, Coolant Flush, Oil Change, Additional Transcooler & Trans Gauge installed.

Take a look at these. This is the 3/4 clutch pack, as you can see BURNT TO A CRISP with NO MATERIAL LEFT.

This is the main front planetary gear - as you can see, the pinions on the gear are BURNT BLACK - thats typically caused by a 300*F overheat.

I thought the trans had only 5k on it? He should've rebuilt it for free, if he was the original builder.
