HD grille. Trimmed the lower part a little more than an inch. There's a middle bracket. Trimmed that as well and kept it for extra support. Everyone asks how much need to be trimmed. Well after I did mine it's hard to measure exactly so I trimmed it to where it's flush with the lower mounting tabs.

You can see the middle brace that bolts on the back side along with the bowtie. It hangs down. I was able to slide that part behind the bumper pad but it wouldn't pop the rivet into place.

You can also see where the trimmed part is flush with the outer mounting spots.
I trimmed about 1 1/2 inches off the bottom of mine. I think I should've went maybe another 1/8 or so more.
Swapped out a pretty clean fram filter for a k&n panel.

2 miles later I immediately get the infamous check engine light:smh:
Only lightly oiled one side, the dirty side. Might take it out and clean it and run it dry, should be OK ?:shrug:View attachment 181592
I ran an oiled k&n in mine for awhile and never had any issues, fortunately.

Somebody probably had their impact set on kill when they were put on. Plus the rust and corrosion. Just glad you got them off without breaking any studs!
Wouldn't surprise me. Bunch of morons that work on tires up here. I gotta baby sit people. Went to 3 different shops to have my Nissan wheels installed. Every single one of them said they can't do it because I drive a Chevy truck and the wheels are for a Nissan truck. Lost a sale plus I was buying tires at the time. Found some tires at one place then had another put them on the rims. Then another to install them.
Anyway yes glad I didn't do any damage. At least now I have gm wheels on a gm lol

Cleaned up the wheels to be sold the next day. They went back to their home on a Nissan titan.

Was bittersweet , had these for 2 years. Won't be known as the guy with the Nissan wheels anymore. I personally love how they looked and they drove great.

All that's left are the center caps i made lol. Which actually held up great for being home made.20171019_182255.jpg

Did this same thing on my Silverado with the 3 piece 6.0 cover and planned to do it to this one too.
Took my 5.3 cover and trimmed it to fit the 6.0 side covers so it doesn't look like im reppin a 6.0 , which everyone assumes when I pop the hood :smh:
So no more vortec 6000, now just vortec:D

Hated having the switch for my underglow down at the bottom of the dash and decided to make a switch in place of the rear wiper button.
Used a face plate from a Silverado with and cut out a hole for a simple aftermarket switch. Used the same insides of our switch but gutted out the wiper button to make room for the different switch. I over cut the hole slightly you can see in the pics but it's not too bad and I can love with it. Later I'll grab another face plate and play with it more .20170918_070800.jpg 20170918_071136.jpg 20171001_154615.jpg 20171001_164635.jpg 20171001_164638.jpg

Looks good. How about another fog light switch adapted to the wiper switch body or even the switch from a silvy bed light? Just throwing ideas at you if youre going to junkyard for parts again.
