I did this mod but I just bolted it to the bottom hole on the original bracket. I obviously had to remove the stud from the bumper. Not ideal but they don't shake and anyone could do this without cutting or welding. Truly a bolt on mod.
Similar story, 04 with 108k and new trans. Driven by a college kid who didn't care. Detailed it, wheels, suspension, dent removal and touch up. Now we're in business.

I can not stress this enough, driving in AUTO is not AWD, it still engages the front differential, it is still 4wd. DO NOT DRIVE IN AUTO on dry pavement!
