The rubber seal on the bottom of the door gets stuck to the door and stops the drains from functioning.
I believe they are for wind noise, mine now have notches where the drain holes are.......

UNREAL!!! I know this is an old thread, but thought I'd share. I have a 2013 Yukon Denali, bought new, and still only has 21K miles on it (work from home). Never been in a flood, rarely use car washes (but have), and park in garage in the winter/snow months. My son was in driveway playing basketball this evening and asked me what was dripping out of my Yukon (hasn't been driven in 2-3 days, and had been raining a LOT for same 2-3 days. I opened the door, and the dripping turned into a stream, I pulled the bottom rubber door seal partially off and it came out like a FAUCET for at least 4-minutes (LITERALLY)! I was in shock watching it. I than checked the front doors, no problem, went around to drivers side rear door, and heard sloshing and door was HEAVY. I grabbed a 3-gallon bucket to see how much would come out, and it got to 2-gallons before the solid stream started trickling. HOLY $#!7
2+ gallons of water??? SERIOUSLY!!!
Looking closer forward corners of both doors are rusted (paint gone) on the outside, and I can't imagine what the inside looks like, but will be pulling the panels tomorrow to find out. I can't believe this has been going on since the 07 model without a fix/recall for this! How many issues need to happen here GM? I own 11-GMC Trucks for business, and 2 for personal (all 2013 to 2017), hoping the Sierras aren't doing this, or I'm DONE with GMC, after 8-years and over 25 vehicles of being loyal!

Wow me too 07 denali passenger back door,
Currently waiting letting water out, reading all these post
Thank God it's a easy fix.
I even had a leak at the back hatch, I looked and notice a bolt was missing and judging by the paint is still flawless it was never fasten by the plant.
