anyone have any specifics on the differences between the normal 91+ tune and the tow/sport/haul ass mode? Is this an option that is automatically installed when you get the tune from BB and install it? I just ordered my autocal a couple days ago and am waiting till I get back from deployment(soon) to get a couple things installed then get the tuning process going. I'm sure it's not a huge difference just want to surprise my buddy in his hemi if thats even possible. I feel like there's potential in this engine that GM just didn't want to release from the beginning. Thanks for the help.

I know we are talking different years and engine sizes, etc...., but here is the write up I did in my build thread for my 06 Tahoe tune back in October 2014.

http://www.tahoeyukonforum.com/threads/fosscores-2006-tahoe-build-thread.65729/page-8

This may answer a few questions for guys and details what I experienced with the in person tune and results thereafter. The AFM/DOD has been well documented here on the TYF and there are threads that ask/answer the questions as pertains to the BB tunes for the 07-14 years.

Hope this helps a bit for someone.

I have both of these installed and I toggle between them at will and on the fly by pressing the Tow Mode button.

The 91 octane is great for daily driving, with enhanced throttle response, quicker shifts and more immediate downshift relative to factory. The Sport/Tow is awesome for much more throttle response, holds gears longer, and almost instant downshift when you dip into throttle.
I got both installed in person for the standard in person tune cost. Highly recommended.

This is not like buying something from amazon and never talking to the seller. Black Bear will set it up how you want it. When Justin tuned my truck he dialed it in as to how I like it, not you, or he or anyone else. He would make changes and we'd test them out. Being an oldster, a couple of things he made more mild for me.

As for taking out a hemi, what are you starting with? Which motor, transmission and gears do you have? Is his truck stock or modified?

Yeah, and I forgot to point out that I'm a family man living in the suburbs so I don't necessarily want hard, quick shifts all the time. Sometimes it's good to be more mild. My "standard" tune is much more lively than stock but not super ****. My "sport" mode is pretty awesome for when I want to get going in a hurry.

It's a stock hemi no bolt on's at all, not even an exhaust, completely stock. I have a 5.3L Flex good question on tranny and gears, wish I knew, I'll let you know in 5 days though haha. I right now have the GM performance intake box/airaid cone/norcal SS mod/MIT, will be installing throttle body spacer and race venom exhaust when I get back then getting it tuned with all this on 93/E85 depending on alcohol content... by BB, eventually I'm going to put on long tubes and maybe a cam, but that's down the road a little bit.

We can find out in a few minutes. What year is your truck? Which model is it? In your glove box is a sticker with lots of codes on it. Give us the G, L, M and N lettered codes. Or post a photo of it if you want.
