lol, I could totally see that. And that will def be a consideration as they get older. But at 10 surprisingly my kid isn't stinky yet. Except for shoes. Those cannot stay in the car or even come off in my car lol. At this point I'm more worried about the constant farts permanently stinking it up. Why do boys fart so much!!!

Oh boys get a lot worse!!!! The stink starts when testosterone starts flowing...about 14 if I remember?/!! At that point farting is the least of your problems....which are just beginning!!

As stated above, if you can drive that pickup truck, then driving either Yukon or Yukon XL will be much easier. I've owned both, and I much prefer the XL, as it provide more flexibility. We know nothing about your family or daily living/activities situation, but if you have a dog(s), or like the outdoors such as camping, or occasionally need to load more than 5 people into a vehicle, or if you have home projects that periodically require transporting sheets of plywood or sheetrock, then the XL is for you.

You will enjoy either one.

Would I really miss the camera mirror thing in an xl or would all the other camera angles be enough for parking? Parking really is my biggest concern regarding size. We don't live in a big city so it's not like I'm navigating a ton of parking garages regularly or parallel parking on busy crowded streets often. It does happen some but usually my husband is driving then so it's his problem lol.

I don't really use my rear camera. Instead, I rely on the backup distance sensors, which light up a series of lights on the rear passenger side post, progressing from yellow to red, as you get closer to something. That may just be a Denali feature.

I finally found one!!!!!!!! It is not 100% what I originally wanted, but it has enough. I wanted the premium package, mostly for the power running boards and camera mirror. The other stuff I won't miss. I originally was after a regular sized pearl beige denali w the diesel and premium package. 6 months ago I was dead set on exactly that. Had I gone with a diff color or the light interior, I prob could have gotten everything else. The more I thought about it, I realized the power running boards are just one more thing to break or get messed up from the gravel dust (this was a huge issue on my sliding van doors), I don't really care about any of the advanced security features. Hell I barely even lock my car unless I'm at work and I'd never know if any alarms went off then anyway. I don't need the towing package. So really my musts were dark interior bc kids and I'm too lazy to clean the marks from my jeans from the light shale interior, the diesel engine, a sunroof and the sliding thing. I found one this morning, a white frost xl w the diesel engine, pano sunroof, sliding console thing and diesel engine. Dark ash/walnut interior. Its in transit and should be there in early oct.

They did away with the lights in 2010 or so and then in 2015 it got moved to the DIC in the cluster, which is dumb if you're backing up. If I have to look to the front to see where I am, I would want the 360 view. My SS is even worse though, it has front and rear park sensors but no indication other than the annoying useless beeping and it can't be permanently disabled the button has to be pressed.

So when I pulled the trigger on a GM full size, albeit mine is old...(2006) lol, I came from a 2001 Dodge Durango limited. It was a Major adjustment. Like going from a pinto to a bus! Lol. But I got used to it and maneuverability is no problem. I trace down to Los Angeles and Orange County California often and working really isn’t a challenge. Over the last 6 years I’ve driven all the one ton pick ups and the all the SUVs that make up the fleet of vehicles my best friends parents own, while either house sitting for them to take care of the animals while they travel, working for them at their recreation businesses or traveling with them. Always have to remind myself how hard it is to turn a one ton crew cab. Especially into or out of a parking spot! Lol. But to the me Denali is way easier. They have a 2015 escalade ESV, and just picked up a 2020 Yukon xl Denali in April. We went to dinner a few weeks ago together and I was asked to drive us home afterwards because I hadn’t had anything to drink. We got in the XL Denali, and despite the fact it’s quite a bit longer than my 2006 XL Denali, it was still so much easier to handle and maneuver in and out of the parking lots than the one ton crew cab trucks. The camera system is great. If you have multiple kids, and they’re in sports, get the XL! You won’t regret it! I went through the same thing considering making the move to a GM and at first couldn’t justify an XL. But after 6 years of ownership, tons of space in the back for all my auto detailing gear, sleeping in it with an air mattress back in June on a camping trip, that I wouldn’t have been able to do in a standard wheel base Denali, or hauling my sisters three kids around, I definitely DO NOT regret getting the XL over a standard wheel base. Lol.
