Yukon Denali headlights

Does anyone have some pics of some aftermarket headlights installed on a Yukon Denali. Looks like most come from eBay. I'm looking at replacing mine.

I kind of like these. Does anyone know if you have to do any extra wiring or do these just plug in and all the halos and LEDs work?

Yeah retrofitting will be your best bet. Although pretty damn expensive it looks way better and the light output is awesome compared to the cheap projectors out of ebay.

I am thinking about buying these headlights. Does anyone know if they require extra wiring? Any feedback on these? I hear some people replace the bulb with a h1 hid bulb, what is that? I don't know that much about headlights. All the feedback the better.

instead of starting a new thread can someone answer me this...

Im looking to get HID in stock housing for now until i can get projectors. but dont know if i need a harness becuase i read on here that the yukons dont need them. My other questions is what slot are the DRL and i read that you had to pull two???

If anyone can shed some light on this, that would be great.

Give us more information.......I like the look you have on yours but I'm not spending $1,500 to 2k on headlights.......I just want to see better than the stock ones.....I see the ones on eBay for 200 to 300.......that's my price range......which ones are the best in that range? I'm not sure of your lever of expertise with auto mechanical/electrical stuff or your diy comfort level, but one can get a good retrofit setup in your price range: http://www.theretrofitsource.com/product_info.php?products_id=227

Almost all ebay aftermarket housings for nnbs trucks will result in this:

It's like throwing money down the toilet.

There really isn't a convenient HID solution ... as always the options are:

1. Buy some ebay housing like above and see nothing
2. Stick HID bulbs in your reflector housings and glare everywhere
3. Do a proper retrofit
4. Get the best possible halogen bulbs for you reflector housings

To clarify and to not mislead you, I should mention that you would still need to get a set of oem clone aftermarket housings for the above linked package as our oem housings are all but impossible to open without breaking ... so it would cost you another $150.

I really wish it were cheaper ... but that's why I always recommend not going near HIDs if price is an obstacle. You's be amazed how much a simple upgrading of one's halogen bulbs improves light output. Plus it's the least expensive option of all.

Hey Serge, seeing as how you're the expert on the subject, what retrofit kit would you recommend for the Yukon lights? I went to the website you linked, but am completely lost on which kit to get. I want to find the largest projector to fill in the huge reflector in my Yukon...

Morimoto h1 minis are great for their price and there bixenon so you have high and low bean in one projector the retrofit source throughs shrouds in with them as a whole kit very fair priced too ebay projector kits are garbage take it from serge he'd know lol

Mmm, I'm not sure ... there are larger shrouds but they are meant for larger projectors (read more expensive). But I'm not sure how much space you have back between the housing and the frame and what projector will fit. Also with a larger projector the closer the lens of the projector will get to the clear plastic of the headlight, which many folks find more unattractive than an overexposed reflector.

Basically what you need is a shroud that 'fans out' wider at the back so you can cover more reflector ... and I am not aware of any. It might be that one would have to be custom fabricated, but then you're spending a lot of money just to cover a tiny bit more of the reflector.

Not sure if all that made sense.

Almost all shrouds should fit in that spot it's a pretty big spot to fill... For nbs all we have is mini Gatlins and modified galtin ogs... Hid planet Is a great reto forum helps ppl better understand retos FYI

largest shroud on TRS is the E46, but has a small tangent cut off so is not fully rounded, the Panamera is next followed by the MC-R. If a larger lens is desired (3 inch) E55's (evo X) and TL's have those, there are others as well not on the site such as Valeo Bixenon and E46 Bixenon. Since there is already a high beam reflector in the Yukon headlight you have your choice of projectors and dont need a bixenon projector. Regardless you will be using the same selection of shrouds so and once behind the shrouds the appearance of a 2.5" Vs. a 3" lense is negligible. So you may be better off w/ 2.5" lense (most single xenon projectors) such as S2K($$$) or lexus rx-afs or the FXR (bixenon but good performer and value).
So you can see there is a lot of options, read up on HidPlanet before making your selection, or you will likley end up doing it twice.

Also I am not sure if the yukon headlights are perma-sealed like the OEM tahoe headlights, so you may not need to buy a second set of headlights.

Roy, I believe the oem bulb for the yukons is H13 because it's one bulb for low and high beam ... so a bi-xenon is a must.
