Ok while doing my research i read my exact question but danged if i can find it via search, so sorry in advance for the repetition:

2010 Yukon, Bose system. I just bought this, no active XM subscription. Replaced the head unit this weekend with a Pioneer 4200NEX, iDatalink, and required harness. Overall, other than breaking the center trim piece, the install was straight forward. Bummed that my rearview camera isn't auto re-routed to the new head unit, but hey i got steering wheel controls.

So i switched to XM and the channels are recognized, went to preview channel but there is no sound. Parked in the clear, etc, etc...can change channels and no sound output on anything.

What could be the issue?

I would get a new siriusx v300 you could have gotten one with short, thats the cheapest fix. if not you have a bad port on the radio. just as a question are you using Android Auto or applecar play? I ask because my unit sometimes lowers the volume when i connect my phone.

So i bought the truck on 10/31 and my sirius was in preview mode. Worked fine on the stock head unit. drove it a week while waiting on my new stereo and my sirius stations started coming in and playing like normal. I didnt get a subscription or anything. So then i swapped to my Pioneer and now no sound. Danged thing is I just read this exact situation on a post and thought there was a resolution...but can't find it.

Speaking of Android Auto. Been trying to get my Galaxy S7 to work reliably with AA but no dice. bunch of posts out there saying it locks up etc. My Galaxy S6 works great tho. So no, i do not have the phone hooked up to the head unit at all during my time trying to get Sirius to work...and i did turn up the volume.

So my question is: is there a XM tuner located outside the factory headunit? Because as far as i can tell the 4200NEX doesn't have a tuner and that's essentially what i'm missing. But its weird that i see channel info.

Ok using Google i think i found the thread: http://www.tahoeyukonforum.com/threads/no-sound-with-xm.3502/

Missing the tuner?
