Well, they won't even rent the scanners, nobody will. I call Kragen, CarQuest and AZ...there was a lawsuit involving autozone not too long ago so now none of them can do the scans or even rent the scanners out.

The guy at Kragen said that there is still a way to get it done free, I have to call AAMCO and make an appointment and they will do it. Sucky.

sounds like the cat converter... I had the exact same thing happed to my truck. I thought the thing was going to blow up because it was so rough and it did the same shifting thing yours did. When my SES light did come on the very first time, it flashed, meaning stop the engine because damage could be done if you keep running it...which points to the cat. My car was running lean so it just "over catalyzed" the converter and blocked it up.

Well mine didn't flash luckily and it seems to be running better today...we just have to wait and see I guess.

k well thats good. You might just want to buy a code reader from an auto parts store, I did that and I have had a few good uses out of it. My dads avalanche SES light came on and is still on and the reader said it was the cat, so yours could still be that but no so violent like mine. But your problem sounds on and off...keep us posted on what it turned out to be

Thanks man. Not sure how far RC is from Oceanside, but the soonest I could get an appointment at North County GMC is 7:30 tomorrow morning, so until then I've gotta wait...and I have a feeling that it will be an all-day thing. Then we leave saturday morning. Blah.

If you still want to read the code before you turn it in tomorrow, let me know. I can cruise up tonight.

Well, dealership said that the engine threw a bunch of 02 Sensor codes because the engine wasn't getting enough fuel and it was running lean. Service advisor said that this basically pointed them toward the fuel pump. So, I went ahead and ok'd the work - covered under warranty. :D

I just gotta pay the $100 deductible and I'm good to go, hopefully they'll have it done later today. Max, I'm still down to help you wrench on the Denali's fuel pump when you install the high flow. ;)

How badass is it to have an extended warranty like this...truck has nearly 109K on it and I'm still getting shit fixed for next to nothing.
