I just purchased a Wolo air horn and need help installing it. Anyone have pictures of their install or would be willing to give me clear instructions on how to make it work in lieu of my horn when I press it? I'm somewhat of a novice electrically but tool around often enough to get by ;o)

I think Modded has one. He's really good at helping out so he'll see this eventually and post something!

Which would be great because I'm considering the same mod.

Get a add-a-line fuse box type adapter from your local AutoZone, then run it off the fuse from the stock horn to the 4-throng relay.
Learn how to wire a 4-throng realy too, on this setup one number is for ground, one for switch power source (hint from horn fuse adpater), one is for constant 12V (battery) and the last is to the AirHorn compressor.
Can't remember the exact numbers and their specific above funtions though.
Lastly, your stock horn and AirHorn will both work after all this. :)

I took mine out like a month ago so I can't give you a pic now.
I munted the horn and compressor on the second battery tray under the hood right behind the washer fluid tank inlet.

Tim,

Nice train horn setup. I am thinking of doing something similar, maybe not as many horns, I just want something so loud it will blast drivers into the next area code who cut me off. Where did you put your battery? With 20 feet of hose, is there a noticeable decrease in loudness or not, since the tank has to push a lot more air to the horns than if it were closer?

I know this is a 2.5 year old post, and the thread is old, but Google found it and it's just what I'm looking for.

I just installed the WOLO Road Warrior on my '11 Yukon. I used the WOLO 808c higher output compressor too. The short of it is that when I did what was my final step...plugging the add-a-line fuse adapter into the fuse box...the horn sounded until I removed the fuse.

I wired it as seen below, with terminal 85 (to horn switch) going to the add-a-line fuse. I used 14 gauge wire for the battery to relay, relay to compressor, and compressor to ground, and I used a 30amp inline fuse instead of 20 (larger compressor).

Was that correct?

Why would it go off as soon as I put the fuse it, even though the horn wasn't being depressed (the stock horns were silent the whole time...but work fine when I hit the horn)?

It may be worth noting that the way I read the numbers on the relay (which I am pretty sure I read correctly) it didn't look/line up exactly as it did in the image. What I mean is that the tab/bolt attachment point was not in that location relative to the numbers for the tabs.

Could I have hooked up to incorrect tabs?

Would that cause my problem?

What could have caused my problem?
