I’ll stick with the LS. Nicely equipped for almost half the price. For me, it is a people/stuff hauler that needs to be comfortable over long distances.

Probably holds its value the best too.

Paid $46,200 for it. kBB trade value for excellent condition is $37,400 - $39,700.

Because dealerships always give KBB excellent condition dollar amounts for trade-ins...

The new twin turbo engine from GM (or better said Cadillac) does slightly vary from that being referenced in the Ford F150’s... Slightly different by 2 cyclinders (no big deal). It’s a 4.2L V8 not a 3.5L V6.

Additionally if you google “GM 4.2 Twin Turbo Engine” all links and articles spell out specifically that this engine will be a Cadillac specific power plant, likely on the CT6 line-up.

Based on what’s being reported on this engine I could see it being Cadillac specific initially, remember the old Northstar V8’s?!?! However, with a couple years of success we may see it stuffed into other GM platforms. Unless Cadillac is trying to really separate themselves from the rest of the GM brand. But I definitely do not see the 4.2L Twin Turbo (LTA) engine being shared with the Denali or even the Escalade for that matter.

All being said the Cadillac 4.2 TT V8 (LTA) sounds promising with 550HP/627TQ in the CT6 “V-Sport” and 500HP/550TQ in the Non V-Sport models.

Sounds like the perfect engine to go into an Escalade/Denali to me. Especially now that GM is getting decent competition from Ford/Lincoln.

I'm not sure but I believe GM and Ford are using the same transmission.
Will put the link later where they mention the design and make the 10 speed together.

Oh I don’t disagree and I would like to see it happen as well. It just seems for the most part it’s being positioned as a “Cadillac only” engine, specifically the CT6.

Any way you slice it it’s encouraging to see GM finally developing a TT V8 motor.

In some cases I have gotten that. Depends how motivated the dealer is to make the sale.

And it really depends on how much meat is left in the deal.

If they’re making 5k on your new car then they may give you $1k OVER kbb price in the trade.

How nice of them!!

They’d never write you a check for the top end of KBB ‘excellent’ figure if you weren’t buying a new vehicle.

I’m interested in the engine but not in the color restrictions. I want the blue.

You can get the 6.2 on an SLT on the MY2019

Well in 9 years when I am ready to sell it then hopefully the 6.2 (6.4? Twin Turbo?) will be available with a cloth interior and 2nd row bench. Time will tell.

In a world where you can get cheese in a can, buy a shirt with anything you want on it, or order coffee with a foam selfie on the top, you would think that car manufacturers would allow you to order a-la-carte. But no. Order the sunroof, and you have to take the "Sound and Sun" package. Want the 6.2l/10 Speed trans?...Oh it comes with leather and 2nd row captains chairs and a bunch of other shit you don't want. Want LED daytime running lights? -> Only on the Premier (I know its available on all models now).

Its not just GM either, but it still pisses me off.

It will never happen for the simple fact that it would slow down the production lines too much to allow a fully custom optioned vehicle. Companies like Ford, Chevy, etc. are high volume car companies and can’t slow down the lines like that. The less ala carte options offered the faster they can pump them out and get them on the lot.

join the Military, get stationed overseas.

AAFES/Navy Exchange have purchase deals with the Big 3. You can select the options you want, in any combo. The vehicle will be built and delivered to you anywhere in Continental US.

I've had quite a few buddies in Guam do this right before flying back stateside. It's the main reason you see some real oddball rigs. Only catch, the option you pick must be available for that model.

So yeah, a 6.2 powered 'Burb with cloth and a sunroof can be had....lol
