my 2011 GMC yukon xl with the 5.3 emgine ,transmission is about to go out. and before it does i want to change it.

but i can only find a 2010 gmc yukon DENALI witch has a 6.2 engine, will that same trans fit my yukon? l

Yes it will fit. I think they are both 6 speeds. There is programming that will need to be done so the new one talks to your ECU

Yes, I think you scored. Both are 6SP 6L80 and pretty sure the 2010 & 2011 are compatible years software wise.

Fit and like B-train said gonna need a reprogram. My Chevy dealership came out and did one for me on a 2012 a month ago. Good luck.

Buy the replacement transmission then remove the pan then control body assembly (TEHCM, valve body, IMS, speed sensors/harness). Next, remove the control body assembly from your current transmission and install it onto the replacement. Perform a fast relearn on the replacement once you have filled it up.

Id also replace the torque converter with an upgraded one.
