This started happening two weeks ago.

It started off when i went to go somewere and all i got was rappid clicking and no rollover. So i jumped the battery with the wifes car. After jumping my Tahoe it fired right up.Drove it with out issue for like two days. Then the same BS happened, again jumped and fired up.However now if it sits overnight the battery is pretty much dead.

So then i swap out the battey with one my brother gave to me a while ago.The motor turned right over. However i ended up getting the same BS even with the swapped battery.

So i talked to a few guys and both told me i need a new alternator. So i went and got a bran new alternator and installed it.I charged the battery and it fired up.Let it run for a while to make sure the battery got good and charged.I then shut off the motor and started it back up,it did so just fine.

Then for a test i turned on my vehicle stereo and let it play a CD for around 20-25 minuts.Normally i can play a CD with motor off for hours.Well in that short amount of time playing the CD my vehicle would not start....

So now im at a loss,i don't know what could have chaned in the last few weeks that could have caused this.Normally the motor fires right up each and every time, never had an issue.

Did you have the battery tested? My wifes car actually did this same thing like last week. I jumped it and it was good for a day or so, then it would die if the car sat for more than 3 hours without restarting it. We took the battery back to Sears and they said it had a bad cell so they replaced it with no problem. I bought that battery not even two years ago. Sometimes batteries just go bad, even if they are fairly new.

Good point Scott,no i have not had either batterys tested. My brother did tell me he thought that battery he gave me was not the geratest but worked. It had sat on my porch for over a year before i installed it.

I did tell the wife that i 'could' just have two sh*t batterys lol.Maybe i'll spring for a Optima battery.I loved the last one i had (let it go with the last car i sold, should not have done that i guess).

Money is kinda tight right now so i may just go for a Duralast Gold battery for now. Before i do so i will have both batterys tested. No sense in pissing away more money for nothing.

if both batteries are good it sounds like you have something drawing current. Have you hooked up any new electronics lately?

Ok well i took both batterys into work and had them tested and both FAILED...Guess i should have done this in the first place, live and learn i guess lol.

I went and got a new 800amp Duralast Gold battery, installed it and she fired right up and i have not had a problem since.

Honestly its just as well that i replaced the stock alternator. It had 140K miles on it and who knows how many hours spent ideling when the MSP had it...

Thanks to all that replyed and offerd advice :)
