Here's my dilemma. I will be purchasing and installing some Nitto Terra Grapplers soon. I already have the Reddy Lift 2.25/1.5 leveling kit on my truck. I don't really want to do some trimming, but will if it means getting the right look. For the look I want something wide that allows the tires to stick out from the fender a little for that rugged look, but also want it to help fill the wheel well gap. The wheel gap with the front tires in stock size just looks horrible. I have some info from www.1010tires.com to give as much info as possible. The sizes I'm considering are 295/50/20, 295/55/20, 305/50/20, and 305/55/20. The information below is a comparison of the 275/55/20 stock tires size. I will be keeping the stock 20s the truck came with. One last thing I'd like to mention is that, according to my Garmin GPS, when the speedometer reads 60 MPH the GPS reads 58 MPH. According to a document from GM Fleet directed to the police, the margin of error for the readout on the Tahoe speedometer is +/- 2 MPH, thus this seems to be acceptable. I also understand that the correct size tire could compensate for this.

I'd like everybody to vote and then explain why you voted the way you did. Your input would be greatly appreciated. If you have a pics of any of these tire sizes installed on your truck, or any other size tire not listed in your poll please post them up and tell me all about them.

Edit: I forgot to mention that you can vote for more than 1 item in this poll.

It has to be a 305 for sure. Your going to want that extra width it makes is worth while.

My choice would be the 305/55's...if I had it to do it again.

The stock Michelin's ride awful good though!

SW CT,
My vote is for some 305/55/20's. I ran these on my tahoe with aftermarket wheels and had to trim, but there are some on here that run them on the stock wheels and have very minor rub or trim involved. I was after the same look you are and the 305 width is what makes it look beefy.

I have the Nitto Terra Grappler 305/50/20's and they rub on stock height... I'd go with that if I were you as they probably won't rub with your ReadyLift kit.

Sad Bear is sad. Not many people posting here.

IMO not a lot of people running 20s with a level kit. Having said that, 295\50\20 because you want to minimize trimming.

FYI I have 285/65/18s and had to trim ~2 inches from the front valence. Seems like the Z71s had to trim more than other models.

Also just get the spedo adjusted or BB tune :driver:.

Thank you for the info. Everybodys input is very much appreciated.

As for the speedo recalibration, for me, that goes without saying and is just common sense. It looks like Hypertech makes a good one for our trucks.
