where did yall run your wires through the firewall?

i read one post where someone said behind the brake pedal, but i see no way through there!

Why does chevy have to make things so freakin complicated to do aftermarket stuff!?:emotions122:

Pictures would be great and maybe a how to...

There is a hole behind/above the brake pedal. It's really in between the brake pedal and the parking brake, maybe 18" above the lowest part of the floor. It's kind of a PITA to get to, but for me it was easier than drilling my own hole.

Mybad UofM I have not drilled a hole in my firewall yet.
But I would drill the hole right above the intermediate steering shaft. so that way you know just about where it will come out inside. And I say inside because it is easier to drill from the hood area in so you know you are not gonna hit something.
If you don't want to drill a hole you can runt the wire from the battery across the top of the firewall, then down in a waay that it comes out near the running board area, the you can shove it through the grommet right under the drivers foot and run it from there to where you want it. To get to that grommer pull the drivers door sill trim off, then lift the carpet up and you will see what I am talking about.

I ran mine through the hole referred to above between the brake and e-brake. Definitely a pain, but I used a coat hanger to thread it which made it a lot easier.

thanks guys! but i made my own hole...

If you remove that circuit breaker box with all those wire directly to the right of the factory grommet, there is a spot that is pre tapped and ready to be drilled out. A little bit easier...

I didn't have my camera during the install, and i cant get a pic of the actual hole now because its hidden behind a bunch of wires and a box that i had to remove. Yes, its on the driver side, and if you look to the left of the brake pedal, there is a circuit box cover, remove that, then undo some of the wiring clips (just remember where they go) and move the box around until you see the pre-tapped spot in the firewall. if you need more info, just let me know

around the steering column and Brakes you will see a huge pack of wires going thru a nice big rubber bonnet (grommet) Just use an all to poke a nice hole around the perimeter of the wires where the rubber is nice and soft. Then use a coat hang to pull your wires thru
