Just trying to figure this out, because i bought the LED bumper lights, and they are really nice, but the white part of the light never comes on, it seems that the orange part (for signal) is on all the time, and then just flashes brighter when i signal... but i thought the white part should be the one on full time and the orange just comes on for the signals... i am lost here...

but i am just trying to figure out how it works when it's stock, then i can try to figure out my LED thing later.

Should come on when the truck is in drive. When it's still light enough that the auto lights don't kick on

i can tell that it's not on when i am driving (can see the refelction in the vehicle infront of me) only the orange turn signals are on.. which as i said, flash brighter when i signal.

i'll have to check for a blown fuse or something, the ends for the white lights looked a little cooked, just need the weather to cooperaste for a day or 2..

are your orange lights on all the time too?

no. sounds like it is wired so the running light part of the orange is connected to the drl.

what happens when you turn the fogs (and/or running lights) on? does that then turn the "white" on

but by looking at your signature picture, you're are behaving the same as mine.

I wasn't ghostriding when I was snapping pics ;)

Car has to be in drive.. the "Driving" portion of the LED bumper lights are about twice as bright as the parking/turn signal LED's

Mine light up all white.

they are wired up properly... if they weren't, my signals would not work... not sure if my DRL's ever worked, a si just got this truck a couple months back and never noticed... i'll have to take a multimeter to that circuit and see what's going on.

just checked the 10a drl fuse in the engine fuse panel, looks fine, i didn't have a fuse tester, but it didn't appear to be blown... I'll get out there with my multimeter, probably tomorrow, it's supposed to be nice, and it's a friday :)

no, it just plugs in to the same sockets as the bulbs, so it should act the exact same as stock... that's why i am so confused.

---------- Post added at 06:58 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:20 PM ----------

now i am confused, i went out there and tested some stuff with my multimeter, and i get power at, and through the fuse, but not at the light socket...

the only thing i can think, is this truck was towed behind a motorhome or bus or something before i got it, because it's got a lights set up rigged up for the front (so the motorhome's lights go through the trucks lights), it's also got a spot cut out of the lower bumper plastic for a tow bar.

so i figure maybe they screwed up the wiring when they did that... i'll have to look deeper in to it when i have time/warmth.

I just got those LED bumper lights too, and kinda got the same problem as you.
The driving lights never turns on. I tried connecting the stock bulb on one side and led on the other, and the led wont work.
Also, how do you connect the blinker? The socket in the car is that round type, and the plug is flat like the drl's...

Only thing I got working on that LED bumper light was the corner light.

^^ what year is your truck? my blinkers have the blade style 3157 bulbs, as well as the running lights...

What's weird with mine is that even if i put the stock bulbs in the running light sockets, they don't work.

It's a 2004 Tahoe.

Here's some pix of the socket.
