What's Wrong With Your Yukon/Tahoe Today? ...And How Long Has This Been Happening?

I am waiting on a sensor for the DPF it has only been a week since I drove my brand new HC Tahoe off the dealership, never made it 20 miles before Emissions system fault came in then right back to the dealership. When I start it thru the start stop button even in a heated garage 60F the steering wheel heater comes on and also only the driveside heated seat comes on, neither of these should come on. I hope my list doesn't get too long for when it goes in for the sensor replacement.

Dude the heated steering wheel and heated seats coming on automatically is a feature lol. It is set to AUTO. You can turn that off via the infotainment screen. It's under the comfort settings.

In the settings mine is turned off and why would only the wheel and driverseat not passenger seat come on so you are telling me when it is 90F outside they will come on, I sure hope not as I don't think 60F is cold.

I think some of it is dependent on what your system temp setting is at. If its set warmer than outside temp, it may default to turning on the heated wheel and drivers seat.

It also likely defaults to only driver seat as yhe vehicle knows a driver will get in, it doesnt know if there will be a passenger in front or not

Thanks I will look into that as I didn't know about the temp. setting compared to outside temp.

It's temp set sensitive and it knows if you have a passenger or not.

I wondered the same thing until I found the settings for it. Another thing that left me scratching my head was the kick would only open the rear hatch and not close it. Well you guessed it, there is a setting for that. I changed it and all is well.

My washer fluid started to work intermittently and now doesn't work at all. The front and back washer fluid is not working. The wipers work, but no pump and no pump/motor sound. I checked the fuses and they are good. Crazy, it started intermittent right after the recent OTA update. But if it was a software issue then I would not think it would have been intermittent. Has anyone else lost their washer fluid function?

I thank everyone here for their helpful imput. I have the emmissions system issue waiting for parts so with that I can not start using the remote as stated in the manual. My 2020 HC Silverado operated differently as the seats would never come on if the truck was in the heated garage but would outside in the cold. Thanks again guys!

You're like the manual genie Can you find a setting so I can have the truck unlock the passenger doors whenever I use the kick operated lift gate?

Or, for 15 bonus points, find some way to lock all the doors when I close the hatch, in my RX I just had to push the button twice to lock all the doors. I miss the Lexus sometimes....

Don’t recall reading about a way to unlock/lock from the hatch. Wife’s CRV has a button on the hatch, just like we have on the door handles, unlocks/locks all the doors…good thinking.

You can get close on your 15 bonus point option if you enable the walk-away locking.

I use the trick from my Silverados once in the garage I hold the unlock button until I hear the chime, my Silverados always chimed 3 times my Tahoe only once then I can get in and out as much as I want without it locking.

Since December of 2021; when its cold (-20) the center console cup holders get so cold that pop will freeze.
GMC has had a case open since December of 2021; according to them their is an issue with the hvac system, they haven't figured it out. Case is still open, no fix, no eta.

I'm having a very similar issue with my '21 Tahoe Diesel. It hasn't been cold enough here in Michigan to freeze my drinks, but I actually thought the center console was refrigerated. I also have no floor heat on the drivers side. Can you post an update if you here of any progress on this problem? I've been dealing with this issue since I purchased the vehicle in October 2021. Took it to the dealership, and they said there's nothing wrong with it. Thank you.

I am in a much warmer climate (Texas) and have notices that the center console area is usually cool. I thought that it might be intentional to keep the wireless charging pad cool, which I have to believe benefits the charging. My phone is often cool when I pick it up.

Update on the cold center console.
My GMC case continues to be open with GM, the solution to date is for the dealer to apply and then remove a piece of tape which blocks the airflow to the underside of the console. (absolutely insane)
GMC knows about the issue; they just don't have a fix.

I am not experiencing any issues with floor heat however, that works as intended. Sounds like you have a different problem regarding the floor heat.
