My lift gate won't open with the kick. I feel like an idiot trying to wave my leg around over the little GMC light logo and nothing happens.

^^^ This. I had that issue when I first got mine, thought it didn't work. Now a very good straignt in/out kick, taking about a half second in total time, and it opens every time!Make sure you kick straight under and not side to side
Mine did that. Dealer found it was a faulty module. They first ordered the GMC puddle light thinking it was all one unit like it is on some other models. Not so on these. The sensor for the auto liftgate is separate from the light unit. With that replaced it's worked fine for several months now. Now the power is out on all the USB sockets in the console. I know, first world problems, right? My lift gate won't open with the kick. I feel like an idiot trying to wave my leg around over the little GMC light logo and nothing happens.
HaHa! Cant blame that one on GM!!Or be standing close to the SUV with the keys and the cat runs underneath the rear bumper and the liftgate magically opens. It's a cool unexpected trick.
liftgate button (as in the physical exterior button on the liftgate) at least once a week it'll unlatch the liftgate partially, but not fully meaning a second push of the button is needed for it to fully unlatch and then open. took it to the dealer and they thought we were crazy. will probably bring it up a couple more times during oil changes but that's about it. our 21 AT4 did not do it, the 22 Z71 did it and the 23 is doing it now
I noticed that every random thread here seems to include a main topic on something which is eventually followed by a series of posts a few pages later that occasionally talks about someone's ride having a problem. Not major issues, but little ones that don't require time in the shop. I thought it would be interesting to create a universal thread on the quirks and issues you experience in your daily driven Yukon/Tahoe, to share them with everyone here in hopes of finding a solution that others may have. If it's a common problem that others can relate to, maybe it can be discussed and resolved here.
I'll go first...
In the 2 months I've owned my Yukon AT4, I occasionally hear a "thud" behind the driver's seat, as if a bowling ball hit somewhere behind me when I'm driving alone. Nothing moves around back there, it only happens once a day, and I don't feel any vibration in the floor when it does happen. I thought it might be the sliding rear seat, but it takes some muscle to slide them back and forth because of how stiff they are on the sliding track. And my kids never adjust the seats either. Very strange.

The intent was for the 2021+ models. Is this a GMT T1XX platform post? Or are all models welcome?
I can never get it right and for the sake of not looking like an idiot by others who might be watching me, I just find a way to get the button pressed or key out of my pocket lolMake sure you kick straight under and not side to side
Best way to practice is in the garage where the light is lower...stand in back, and kick straight in and out in a deliberate and not too fast manner..do it until you can successfully open/close it that way 6 or 7 times in a row...I can never get it right and for the sake of not looking like an idiot by others who might be watching me, I just find a way to get the button pressed or key out of my pocket lol
Try making a shallow kick right under the bumper and backing away. I was kicking too deep an standing next to the door, which would have hit me if it opened. I think the truck waits to make sure you're clear of the tailgate before opening it.I can never get it right and for the sake of not looking like an idiot by others who might be watching me, I just find a way to get the button pressed or key out of my pocket lol
...And How Long Has This Been Happening?
