What years have the active fuel management system?

A friend told me yesterday to check my 05 Tahoe for afm and if it has it get with another friend who is a local mechanic and have it tuned out/off. Does anyone know if my 05 has this system?

started around 09, you should be good....look under the intake manifold the vally cover will be smooth (no afm) or have abunch of veins (afm)
