What is this?

Now, like most of you, i’m pretty suspicious or **** about any noise/piece of my car that is out of place.

A small noise was coming from my rear tail gate as i was opening and closing. It was a small rattling sound like something was loose.

I was able to remove a piece of the tail gate trim and found what the noise was from.

Is this of concern?

Its an alignment pin for plastic to metal attachment. It doesn't really 'hold' anything, just maintains alignment.
