I replaced my rear wiper arm this week. It was bent half way to the shaft at a 90 degree angle by a local automated car wash. I've owned this truck almost 10 years and NEVER had this happen before. Thankfully the replacement was only $40 and took me about 5 minutes.

Has this happened to any of you?

Been going to same automated car wash for years, around last year twice in a row it about ripped my old ladies rear wiper of her trailblazer, never had it happen before or since, had to haggle with them a bit to get them to replace it to as they try to say they aren't responsible, well maybe for aftermarket add ons but a stock wiper that almost all suv's have.

I managed a car wash for a few months. We put tape on the rear wipers to reduce the chance of the car wash equipment ripping them off. We still had it happen about once every 500-1000 cars.

My own car wash ripped off my antenna. We saw a few of those too.

Regarding damage, we would take a statement from the customer, review video footage, pay the claim if it was obvious, and then give the customer a car wash gift card for their trouble. It was a fun job, but the pay wasn't good.

They put a little plastic baggie over the wiper, that place sounds better about it except for the viewing if the footage I think that's a bit much, I thought it would have been a fun job but ya pay stinks.

They did the exact same thing to me. In the end I got $40 worth of free $5 washes, so I was made whole.

5 dollar washes? Where the heck is that? Their basic is 7 or 8 i think and the gold rated wash has gone up now from 14 to 16 after many years at the former price. All we got was the wiper arm replaced.

Got her all fixed up. Very happy to get rid of the crappy eBay grille.

$5 is exterior only, no towel dry. You just drive through... Full service is about $30.

16 dollars is their full service with hot air dryers at the end, fully automated, I usually hand wash too but now living 3/4 Mile down a dirt road and a bit muddy it would scratch the hell out of it.

Uncovered after two months away. Still shiny, but needs a wash. Projects in motion....changes are coming.

Man that was quick. I like the replacement grille better. Looks good.

Thanks. I hated that cheap eBay grille, I was eventually going to change it then the wreck happened so I decided to just do it all and be done with it.

@Fosscore

Ohhh the suspense...cant wait....:popcorn:

Nothing exciting for me-just a cycle of filling her up and detailing it afterwards. Fishing season in full swing.....lots of driving and bugs and such from early morning trips to the area lakes...

@OHSIXX

Might need two bags :popcorn: :popcorn:

some boxes at the house, some are waiting to be delivered and some are on back order. Ugghh...But they will be well worth the wait when they do arrive. Rubbing hands with excitement.

Here's a quick teaser pic the day I got home. Couldn't wait to pull out the socket set. Started her up to hear that Vortec and backed her out of the carport for my sons birthday party today. Parked next to the wife's DD. My friend's 02 Suburban and 05 Tahoe and the usual interloper....lifted Ford are in the background (the Chevy's are bone stock...boring ...and they think I'm a bit nuts with the mods).

The build thread will update when the hit list is knocked out. Pretty damn excited. Stay tuned...
