This isn't anything new but I went with a different approach today...

XM auxiliary jack mod.

Instead of using a head phone jack and then having to use a intermediate cable with two male ends I cut out the middle man.

Here's the route I chose to take...

This is the ONLY material I needed minus the tap connectors.

Cut each end connector off and then twisted both of the ground wires together for a common ground.

Use the same ol tap connectors for the speaker wires and the ground

Plugged it back in and dunzo funzo.

I know the mod is a century old but just threw my own twist on it.

Which tablet ?

It is a Nexus 7 2013 LTE. I am using a modified kernel called "Timurs Kernel" which is designed for fixed installations in cars/trucks. The tablet will automatically power on with ignition power and go into a low power sleep mode when it loses acc power. other benefits of this kernel is you can charge and use usb host mode (otg) at the same time and otg devices will not draw power from the tablet while in sleep mode. I am using a backup camera connected to a USB capture card which is powered by a relay that turns on when i put it into reverse.

Just got back from getting the black bear tune, and wow what a difference. It's so much fun to drive now. I got the 87-89 tune, and sport mode. I actually learned something I didn't know about my truck, Justin said I have the flex fuel engine....didn't know that lol. He also told me that after this tune if I were to run e85 it would perform even better than 89. Anyone with the flex fuel ever run e85 after a black bear tune? Very happy with my tune, big thanks to Justin and his helper Jared. Both very nice people and would definitely recommend getting your tune from black bear performance

Sits in there perfectly. Only thing I'm not happy with is I'm probably gonna have to use silicone to hold them in. I was trying to find something a little better, something to hold it from behind, but no luck.

A write up of this would be great! If you have the time....I for one would appreciate it.
I will try to grab pictures of the way i secured it but i wanted to make sure it could be easily removed so i just used velcro on the back of the tablet and attached to the old double din mounting brackets and it keeps it very sturdy. The dash bezel holds it in place and the velcro is just for getting it centered.

Other than the tablet itself and a few micro usb cables here are the parts needed and a half assed paint diagram of how everything is connected.

Finally had time to get it and bring it to the house. Managed to wash both vehicles yesterday. Not sure when I'll have the time to pull the trans out though.

Towed the Raptors 250 miles round trip to little Sahara sand dunes on Saturday. There were a couple long hills to pull up but not too steep. Averaged 15.5 mpg. At $2.46 a gallon it cost me less than $40 to drive down and back. Nothing special but i was happy. Only performance doodad I have is the Airaid MIT but this is close to the largest load I really ever plan to haul... maybe an arctic cat wildcat on a bit bigger trailer on rare occasion .
