Weather Strip Molding Around Power Sunroof

I have an 02 Yukon SLT with factory power sunroof. What product do you use to clean/preserve/restore the black color on the weather strip molding going around the sunroof glass?

Mine is in good shape, just looks faded dark gray. I would like to preserve it and get the black back.

clean it and then Pfledge for the soft weatherstripping. If there is hard weatherstripping/trim, you can use a product like Back to Black. There are a few products at your local auto parts store for restoring plastics, etc back to black.

Hi Jim, Another good product to use on weather stripping is Napa Sil-Glyde, which is a silicone grease.

I just got rid of some squeaky door gaskets on my Tahoe with this stuff and it's used to protect/preserve rubber. Used it for several years on my old Jeep.

It might not restore the rubber to black, but it will condition the rubber. Might be worth a look see as an option.

Thank you Yukongk and 04whitetahoe. Preserving and conditioning the sunroof weather strip is the most important task. With the sunroof out of sight getting the black color back now seems not as important. Ill give the Napa Sil-Glyde silicone grease a go.

Yes, it's grease. I will wipe it down a couple times after I apply so it's not so greasy, but yes, it's silicone grease.
