Underhood LED light?

My underhood lightbulb finally went out. Can i switch it to a LED one or not?

And if so, which one? 578 or 211-2?

Yes, just swap the bulb with an LED (sorry, can't remember the size). I did so in my '01. Direct plug and play.

@ezdaar used to sell kits, but you can piece something together yourself.

Its really just some led strips on the hood and under the lip @ the firewall iirc

OEM has a mercury switch IIRC. Could use that. Or there are other switch options like how your lights are triggered when you open your doors.

I tried wiring mine to the oem underhood light that I grabbed from an 02. FAIL!
