If you need speed get a fast car not a 8000lb truck. Sorry but it's true.

I always find this response funny. Why ask why? Clearly a sports/muscle car is made to go faster but some folks just want to sup-up their 8Klb SUV's and why......why ther F not. I know my truck will never run 9's but that's not the point. I don't like cars and someday I'd like to get my truck to go as fast as it can. i don't even drive fast AT ALL I just like to know I can and would like to occasionally smoke the unsuspecting ricer in my 8Klb SUV. I see this response a lot when people are asking about performance parts for these trucks and really, it's a lame response because fast is fast. 130+ in a 8Klb SUV is pretty damn fast, is it 200+ in a SLR no but that's not what we/I'm into ....... so that is my rant for the month. I apologize and it is not so much directed at you personally as much as to the response in general which has been made by many folks...........thank you for your time.....carry on![]()

Supercharger to help get our heavy suvs off the line and moving quicker. The boost from twin screws and roots style s/c start from low rpms and build a nice flat torque curve. A centrifugal s/c and turbo don't have the lowend torque like roots and twinscrew s/c. On a lighter vehicle, I'd say go with a turbo or centrifugal. The power potential is greater at higher rpms. But on our big SUVs, I'd go twin screw or roots s/c. Chistoso has a Whipple, which is a twin screw design. I'm running a Magnacharger, which is a roots-style. Both are great units and have insant torque off the line.
We are Magnacharger fans.

I understood from reading that the IAT is higher on a whipple because the Magnacharger has some type of cooler on it?
