I haven't ever towed anything with my truck aside from a jetski and small trailer due to the fear of transmission issues. So when a friend asked me to help him out, I was a little hesitant. I decided that I had to break her in somehow... towed a Isuzu Rodeo for a friend.
that was an easy tow for you jamison. those car dollies take most all the tongue weight and provide very little rolling resistance. it wont hurt anything. i love towing. just fun for me. but one day my trans will decide otherwise. for now at 145k miles ill just have to wait for the inevitable.
towing is fun. i towed a friends camry the other day. and the truck didnt even hesitate. was actually getting 12 MPG on the highway. had to drive 136 miles.
Tried to tow an old 80's Cadillac Brougham, that was locked up, earlier this year and snapped my transfer case chain. Won't do that again. My k3500 yanked it out of the way without even stepping on the gas!
I just towed a 6' X 12' Uhaul trailer with a little under 5K lbs worth of crap in it from Colorado Springs Co. to Houston Tx. once i got outta the mountions it was a breeze.
