I had the unfortunate experience of my transmission going out tonight. I went to Costco to fill gas and as I was leaving, it would not pull off. Acted like it was in neutral. I called AAA to come get it, and while I was waiting about an hour, it cranked and pulled right off. At this point I was scared to trust it, so just had it towed to a recommended shop. Truck is a 2016 4WD Tahoe with 98800 miles. I bought it about 10 months ago with 88K one lady owner miles. I changed all the fluids, with a new drain-plug equipped pan, filter, and fluid in the transmission. No warning or indication it was going bad.

I have read all the horror stories on here about the trans problems, I guess I just thought it wouldn't happen to me.

Did SHE? 'cause that'd be an indication, supposed to change the ATF every 40,000 miles, even if you are and drive like Aunt Teak.
Any codes?

Separate question: '94, '95, or '96? and did it have 3.42 or 3.73?
