Transfer Case Noise

So of course my transfer case is leaking fluid but I cannot see where it is coming from. I know these are notorious for getting a pinhole leak but have no idea about fixing it. Any info would be great guys, thanks.

Clean area, hit it with some 36 grit, use JB weld to seal it up.

If it [The transfer case] is getting noisy, there is some wear somewhere.



(Especially if you can definitely determine that there is a new noise coming from the T-Case assembly.)

It will be more expensive to fix if it goes critical.

i do not know the model of the transfer case. I drive a 99 yukon with electronic 4x4 switch

okay so its pretty straight forward to fix i just have to get it out of the truck and try not to bleed everywhere, lol

It is a known weak spot. The kit is a good fix. Be careful and follow directions and keep all clean.

So today I got under the truck and found the hole where it has been leaking. Put some JB Weld on it and will fill it with fluid in the morning. Also found another whole T.C. for 150 and will grab it soon

Nice! Add the upgrade to the replacement case or it will wear through again.

yeah i am going to replace both components but needed a fix while the weather is cold.
