I just installed my new/reconditioned cluster from fixmygauges.com. Overall I'm very happy with it. I'm excited to have a trans temp gauge on the dash since I tow frequently.

I used the torque app to monitor my trans temps via the OBDII connection vs. the analog trans temp gauge. I found the analog gauge to read about 5 - 10 degrees low. The needle appears to be in the normal starting position, so I'm wondering if that's just how these tend to read? I hate to muck around the needle, but I would like it to be fairly accurate.

Here is a picture of the gauge with the key off. Does this look like it's in the normal position?

Mine sits right on the 100 mark when it’s off. Surprisingly I find my gauge reads 5-10 degrees above what it actually is when I’m reading the data from the tech2 versus the analog gauge in the cluster. Here’s a pic of mine off cuz I’m sitting in the truck right now.

The stepper motors do rest a little low. Once they power up they tick up a little. My tranny gauge needle (with the key off) sits halfway on the bottom of the lowest gauge mark. Half on and half off. It agrees with my Tech 2 reading.

To the OP: do you think the Torque App PID is the right one? There seem to be 3 from which to choose in my Torque Pro app.

That's a great question @Fless ! I was actually wondering if my torque app was correct and now that you mention the different PID's. Do you know which one is correct? I'll see which one I'm using. Thanks!

I don't, but I should! Since I have the Tech 2 I don't use Torque a lot in the Hoe.

You could create gauges from all three and see what they read. If you're using Torque Pro be sure to download and use the Extended PIDs that are available.

Ok here's my build. I labeled them M1, M2, and M3. I'm not sure if I have the Pro version of Torque, but I know I paid for it a while back. I'll give it a spin soon. Screenshot_20230216_185548_Torque.jpg

With the key on (no start) I only get a reading on the M1 trans temp. Maybe the others will work when actually started, I'll check next time I drive it.

Interesting. And if you paid for Torque, you paid (about $5) for Torque Pro. Plain "Torque" is free.
